Dear Jan, I, a „stupid“ and „cringe“ KZbin-Commenter, that „should be ashamed of writing comments on KZbin“ would like to propose a continuation to this video series. The general idea consists of four videos: the first one would be a comedy video from you, followed by a reaction from Alpharad, who will try to advise and improve your comedic performance. This would be followed up by another comedy video, implementing all of Alpharad‘s advice, trying to be as entertaining as possible. For the great finally, Alpharad will do a second reaction to your new video and highlight your improvement and quality of content. This would be the comedic counterpart to this nuzlocke reaction series. Sincerely, A „stupid“ and „cringe“ KZbin-Commenter, that „should be ashamed of writing comments on KZbin“

Was alpharad even playing optimally in that section though, given he had to sack Raichu? True, he didn't need Raichu for the elite four presuming he caught a Magnaton, but he's not explicit that he caught the Magnaton first (the naming implies not, but I dunno). If he sacked the Raichu then by luck ended up catching a Voltorb, an Electrabuzz or a Raichu with worse IVs, he might have been worse off.

Jan has single handedly contributed to my supposed laziness when it comes to nuzlockes. I was talking to my friend who is doing a nuzlocke and I really had a disconnect when they reacted to me saying TMs and leveling aren't a big deal because I just hack in infinite money and use rare candies. And they went, "so you cheat?" I was really like what do you mean you don't do that? But it really saves so much time. I mean I get EVs are important but I don't want to mindlessly grind for hours. I just use the infinite money to buy the vitamins and just give two stats +100 and the rest is just a happy coincidence. I feel like that is just the optimum way to play any nuzlocke. Instead of grinding and dying to some wild pokemon using explosion on you or criting you as you zone out after grinding for 2 hours.

Personally I don't really enjoy hacking in candies and money when I play nuzlockes for myself for fun, though I do get that it skips some of the boring parts and don't shame anyone else for doing it. I just have more fun managing the somewhat limited exp (if you dont like grinding) while playing through the game and being forced to either have underleveled pokemon if I manage it poorly or have to fight 100 wild zubats as a backup plan. For jan and other content creators though, I feel like the biggest motivator is that the rare candy ruleset skips the boring part of the content creation and focuses more on the actual battles and decision making, which makes the content more fun to watch (especially for streaming)
