Peter Gabriel is a genius and he has the voice of a god! He was the lead singer of Genesis in the early days, when they still did progressive rock (seeing as you’re wearing a Rush t-shirt, I’m certain that you definitely should check out their early discography, particularly the albums Trespass, Nursery Cryme and Selling England by the Pound). About Peter Gabriel’s solo career, many wonders lay ahead for you. I’d suggest you start with these: In Your Eyes (if you want, you can watch the live version from the Secret World Tour, which is, probably, even better than the album version), Steam, Solsbury Hill, Shock the Monkey, and Rhythm of the Heat, to start with.

Yes! I saw Peter Gabriel in concert back in 1987 and it was amazing! At the time he was accompanied by a group of Senegalese singers who were such a brilliant and integral part of the concert. So happy you reacted to this Stan!

When I first heard this song three years ago I thought he was saying "snake charmer" but it's sledgehammer. 🤣 This video was supposedly groundbreaking and innovative when it came out in the 80s. I love this song!!🎶💃❤

*Peter Gabriel is a musical genius.* (That word gets thrown around too much.) I recently watched an entire concert (I believe it was shot in Africa but not 100% sure)...and was moved to tears. Beautiful reaction, and thank you. Biko - the song written for South African activist Stephen Biko, murdered in 1977. Off his 3rd record. Don't Give Up - literally the song that saved my life. Off his 5th. That entire record is a masterpiece, but if it weren't for Don't Give Up, I don't think I'd be here. I could go on. But thank you.

Peter Gabriel is a deep well of bangers. For more songs like Sledgehammer, I recommend Big Time, Steam, When You’re Falling, Games Without Frontiers, Shock the Monkey, Solsbury Hill, Time of the Turning (Reprise), Shaking the Tree, Down to Earth, and Kiss That Frog. All are great workout songs. Even deeper and darker are Zaar, Red Rain, Rhythm of the Heat, A Different Drum, Come Talk to Me, Secret World, Fourteen Black Paintings, and the Birdy Soundtrack. The deepest end of the pool includes Biko, Mercy Street, Family Snapshot, San Jacinto, Blood of Eden, In Your Eyes, and Book of Love.

Peter Gabriel is one of my all time favorite artists. If you haven't already, check out some of his more obscure songs like Rhythm of the Heat, Lay Your Hands on Me, or No Self Control. They sound nothing like Sledgehammer but they are phenomenal songs.
