This South Korean Dating Show Contestant Declared Her Feelings For Another Woman Contestant On TV

A South Korean reality dating show has gone viral after one woman contestant confessed her feelings to another woman contestant.
The show “Love Alarm Clap! Clap! Clap!” was based on a famous webtoon-based drama called “Love Alarm”, which has five billion views.
Like the plot in the webtoon, the reality TV show centers on a mobile app called “Love Alarm”, which tells contestants if someone within 10 meters is romantically attracted to them.
Using nicknames, the eight contestants are not allowed to reveal their personal information, including their real names and earn hearts twice a day if someone nearby rings their “love alarm”.
With the hearts, they can then purchase cards to perform certain activities such as going on a date, stealing another person’s date, holding another person’s hand for an hour and so on.
In the end, the contestant with the most hearts wins 10 million won.
On the 11th episode, a woman contestant with the nickname Jasmine, who had been dating male contestants, openly chose to go on a date with another woman contestant named White Rose, saying that she has liked her since the first episode.
“To be honest, this all started because I had feelings for ‘White Rose’. I think if I met with her to clear everything up and be honest about everything, it will be better for both Rose and me,” Jasmine said.
Jasmine’s choice surprised not only the contestants but the hosts, and soon sparked discussion on social media.
Viewers praised Jasmine for how fearless she was when she confessed her feelings for White Rose.
In South Korea, the LGBTQ community still faces discrimination and inequality.
Same-sex marriage is illegal in South Korea and same-sex couples are not allowed to adopt children.

Jasmine is the smartest contestant in this show. She came up with the strategy that no one else thought would be possible and noticeable. Jasmine fell in love with White rose immediately when she saw her for the first time, she just made an excuse for liking tinkerbell too so she could protect her plan and also white rose I mean, It's not her intention to hurt both guy in this show well, what do you expect? They need to do something also to win in this show, right ? And if ever they lose at least they get to find their soulmate... Jasmine's bravery still amazed me knowing how hard it is to come out as Bi, Or Les in Korea still she gathered all her courage to be true to her self. She was brave and I wish nothing for her, but happiness with whoever she might end up with in the future well, however I hope it's with White rose though hehe The show did not played her, She was completely the one who played the show. hahaha What a genius, right? Why is it a harsh country for LGBTQ? There is no legal oppression of homosexuality in Korea people can live as they want. There are many openly LGBTQ celebrities the ones in closet are doing so on purpose to have bigger appeal and bigger audience let's say one of bts members came out as gay or all the members for example they ll lose a majority of fan girls.. Celebrities can't be open about relationships even if they are straight they date in secret not to lose fans. In Korea LGBTQ live in peace they aren't celebrated and not parading in pride because it is just not their culture they aren't open about sexuality in general. The only thing that they are maybe missing is making legbtq marriages legally possible even though honestly I don't understand the appeal of a traditional union like marriage for a community that wants nothing to be traditional.
