Awesome work! Also I completely agree with what you mentioned about others looking down upon those that perform physical labor, the weird irony is that in time I think we will see a shift in this perspective as the trades continue to die out and these workers become more valuable.
@TheChristianHardscaper2 ай бұрын
Thank you! And I agree, hopefully we see more people getting into the trades soon. 🤙🏻

Only spineless malcontents think like that about tradesmen. If a famine was to hit or if the grid crashed; who do they think would have the highest chance of survival? It's comical.

It really looks great....is great to see someone who is enjoying his trade and you really can see it in the results of all those projects you guys finished. It is sad to see that younger generations not interested in any trades any more....like you sad it in this video, this country was built by all different types of trades
@TheChristianHardscaper2 ай бұрын
Thank you very much, I certainly do love this work. Can't picture myself doing anything different... Hopefully things will turn around and more kids will start getting interested in hard work. It needs to be a cultural change though, people need to stop frowning upon their children doing manual labor. The trades are the most crucial part of any Country in my opinion. ✌

I’d be very proud of that wall. I was just doing stone veneer with the same stone. Brutal in the labor , but hot damn when it’s done it’s beautiful
@TheChristianHardscaper2 ай бұрын
I sure am, very difficult project but man was it rewarding to see it done… nothing like natural stone when done right 👌🏻
@mikeymopar11712 ай бұрын
I was just wondering why you did not use your machine to set those caps on top of the wall they have to be pretty heavy I seen you use a tool before to set steps before you couldn't use that anyhow nice-looking wall for sure you guys are for sure true Craftsman
@TheChristianHardscaper2 ай бұрын
They were pretty heavy but still pretty manageable by hand. The machines and clamps can be overkill sometimes… the hard way sometimes is the quickest way, lol 🤙🏻

Awesome wall. Question. I have been sticking Natural stone veneer (ledge) to my block wall using MVIS veneer mortar. Now the temp is bellow 40F.... should I weight for Spring to finish? or should I add an anti freeze to mix? MVIS just says don't install under 40 deg.
@Treehandler2 ай бұрын
I would wait until Spring when temps aren’t dipping below freezing. No guarantees that the mortar will properly set if the water in it has frozen and the expansion will cause some really unreliable bonds. Flatwork we can continue doing until the snow in the northeast because we can lay 6mil plastic and keep the ground from freezing, but anything vertical is going to be difficult to keep from freezing.
@TheChristianHardscaper2 ай бұрын
I would agree with that completely if it is a wall over 3-4 feet because of the risk it won't set right.... But if it is a small retaining wall and you want to keep making progress, adding concrete anti freeze and covering the area you worked on at night with some thermal tarps or just multiple layers of tarps would be fine. Just uncover whenever the sun is out and it is above freezing to help it cure as quick as possible. ✌

Maybe stucco those repaired cinder blocks.
