I did the maths and at couri's current rate of 3.51(3sf) runs per day(day count starting from the og beating mc 1000 times) it will take 78 years more to beat his goal. If he maintains his current 10 runs a day goal tho its only 26 years left. Fun!

I imagine the goal per day might go up as time goes on, there'll be new strats with new mechanics and new updates, and of course he'll get better at doing runs

@@galaxi6585 nope, new updates aren't going to help. So far all runs are on 1.16.1, because later versions have piglin brutes and worse ender pearl rng when bartering (among other things). Almost nobody ever speedruns post 1.16.1, and that's pretty unlikely to change, for at least a good while. His skill increasing from practice _will_ help, however.

@@galaxi6585 sure, who knows; what I'm saying is that in the last four and a half years, updates have absolutely _not_ helped speedrunning. It's possible that a new version introduces some new crazy mechanic that can be exploited for faster times, but I'd say the likelihood for any given new Minecraft update to bring that is _very_ low. But… we can dream (no pun intended) I guess :3

Playing with one hand helped a lot with my decision making, it didn't really improve anything mechanically even once switching back to 2, but i definitely learned some creative tricks to help me live in scary situations!

Him saying that this whole challenge will take a decade and then still only playing on 1.16.5 is just so annoying... i get it that ″its better for speedruns″, but its also worse for literally everything else. I bet most of the viewers are not speedrunners. We play on the current version. At this point, hes playing a whole different game with just the amount of new features added. 1.16 is closing in on being a 5 year old version of the game man...

he plays on recent version every 100 runs, he even has a vid up of him summoning warden in the stronghold in one of these! And he averages over 40 minutes in the recent runs, as opposed to mid 20 minutes in 1.16.1. so he's probably not changing his mind since he wants to actually finish the challenge before he dies haha

At this point, him playing the latest version almost dosent matter anymore. Also, hes most likely that slow in the newer versions simply because of a lack of experience with them. Yes, 1.16 will be faster because of trades and no piglin brutes, but it cant be THAT much faster. I do understand that every minute counts but he's already going to spend years at this, if it were me, i'd at least make these years interesting by adding some variety into the mix, you know? 1 run every 33 hours isnt really that much spice EDIT: Hes ACTUAL average time is 27:30 minutes (as shown here 0:38)!!! THATS 45 HOURS!!!!!!!!
