Deffo gonna go up in value… last analogue ducat superbike( if it’s not an”S”), last trellis frame, last Ducati to win the WSB championship… it’s a monster that will take you an age to tame and ride to its limit( if you ever will!!) And arguably the best looking bike ….EVER!!

@The_bunkering_channel Жыл бұрын
I had a 1198S pearl white with a red frame, and i regret selling it. Just the rawness of this bike, the torque, power, one mistake and it bites you hard in the ass makes it so much more fun too ride then the 1299 and v4s that i owned after.

Great vid! I agree with all your points. I've a 2009 1198s (170 bhp) red on red frame I purchased 5 years ago, in addition to my 2005 999s (143 bhp) which I've owned (& regularly ride) for 16 years. These are great value for money bikes with bullet proof engines. The last of the models before excessive electronics & ride by wire. Without all those electronics, you'll get to know your bike better and you'll become a much better rider. I'll never sell them. They're both so incredibly torquey and have better power delivery than any Japanese four IMO. I've done many track days on the 999s & it keeps up with anything else no matter what it is; & I've also toured France & Germany on it for over a month and it was fine. (Just get fit & in good physical condition before any long rides) IMO the 1198s is one of the best looking designs Ducati ever put out, and this model has all the power you'll ever need, and then some. Sure, a 2022 Panigale V4s will out gun it on the track by a second or two per lap, but seriously, who cares? You'll never need that extra power on the road.
@adobomoto2 жыл бұрын
yeah man, I completely agree with you. There's benefits to the electronics - no doubt. but a raw Superbike is harder to find these days. even Aprilia is electronic suspension now.

I love my vanilla 1198 in red with slash cut Termi's, black trellis frame and granite grey wheels. I will never ever part with this bike even though it has been the biggest pain in the ass getting the charging system to play ball and stay functional. It's the prettiest superbike ever made.

How does the torque on the 1198 compare to the 1299? I feel like, despite the 1299 making more peak torque, the 1198 probably comes off as the torquier motor. Would you agree with that, or are the two pretty comparable?
@adobomoto2 жыл бұрын
I’d say they’re comparable. The chassis on the 1299 is likely better of the two.
@muscleandimports2 жыл бұрын
@@adobomoto awesome, thanks for the response. I won't worry about missing out on that 1198 torque when I get my 1299 then lol Sound-wise tho, there's nothing I can do about that. 1198's just sound a better than panigales imo

Love your channel.. i have to say I think this bike was the nicest .. didn't you have a 999?.. I have a 999 paid 7731 in dollars for an 06 999 9.5k miles. FSH. Full termi system.. it can only go up now. I know they cost alot to maintain . BUT it's worth it when you ride it 100 your review I think having just bought my 999 I don't want to get it dirty .. lol.. well its for riding and I think because they take a lot to maintain . At that cost you need to ride it as much as possible. Only my view. I intend to get some mileage on mine as I don't ever plan to sell her. So she's around to ride clean and enjoy. 🤙

The most beautiful bike in the world for ever. Still, not a word about the 2500 USD or even more for the 15 000 km service procedure - requiring valve clearances and many other - we are a Ducati workshop, i know them all :D Exotics are expensive.

😂…luckily i only have 828 miles now. But yeah, valve clearances are something we don’t talk about 😂😂

Desmo services are so easy a 4 year old could perform them . They’re only $2500 procedures in shops because people don’t want to take the time and research them or they have the money to spend and could care less . It takes less than an hour to shim all 8 openers and closers and install belts ,once the fairings and accessories are removed .

I ended up putting back the stock exhaust, in my opinion sounds better than the termignoni, more bass and in acceptable values of loudness, the termignoni was impossible on the road and on trips over 150km... Was killing me and everyone in the group.
