This SUV is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE! 2023 Nissan Pathfinder car review: 7 seater or 8 seater, V6, AWD

If you need a seven-seat SUV there are heaps of options. But if you need an 8 seater, it's harder. Especially if you insist upon an SUV.
If you don't, buy a Kia Carnival or Hyundai Staria. But if you do, you should watch my review of the Nissan Pathfinder, which has just had its range trimmed back just a few months after launch.
The brand dumped the cheaper models but kept two variants - the Ti eight-seater AWD and the Ti-L seven-seater AWD. Both of them are priced well north of $70k AUD, which means they're super expensive compared to the old Pathfinder, not to mention the best rival, the Hyundai Palisade.
Petrol V6 power is one thing, but no alternative option is an issue. And it loves a drink, and costs a lot to service.

I live in America and we don't get have the Palisade Diesel. We actually don't have a ton of SUV's that offer Diesel. I just bought the new Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek Edition and I'm loving it. I don't think the Rock Creek is out in Australia yet.

Thanks mate. Yep, they have dropped them. I had to re-edit the video to reflect that! Apparently people don’t want better value seven or eight seat SUVs? Silly move. The ST-L AWD was the pick.

its actually one of the cheaper ones in USA unless you get top level trim about $42k USD with AWD palisade and tweluride code more

They were 73k drive away for the Ti-L 12 months ago and then got slugged luxury tax by 11k. Also l test drove both the pathfinder and the palisade, and l liked the pathfinder more. Had less cabin noise and took corners nicely. Korean cars look too cheap on the inside.

Agree. Test drove the Telluride and the Pathfinder in -15deg c. Body roll in the Telluride is apparent and I didn’t like how the rear dampers performed, reminded me of a 94 Tercel/Corsa with the beam suspension. Could feel it from my seat. Pathfinder did a better dampening job even though the tires were over inflated. It gave me confidence at higher cornering speed and less body roll. The only thing the Telluride has IMO is looks, larger 3rd row legroom and cargo volume.

Which spec of Palisade did you drive? Elite or Highlander? My review of the Palisade is coming soon. I reckon it’s a better car than Pathfinder, hands down…

I test drove the highlander and the only positive l walked away with was the diesel engine. Wind noise was worse than my Holden Gemini 30 years ago. And all those buttons in the middle with that Nokia 3310 gear selector. Not in a hurry to buy but Pathfinder for a 7 seater is on top of my list but saying that nissan has been unrelaiable the last 20 years. Gonna wait for the new Mazda CX90 in about a year and check that one out.

It’s AWD. There is no proper 4WD setting, no high or low range.

This looks better than Palisade and I dont mind the V6 given how unrefined and vibery diesels are. If there was a hybrid option in either, this would be a different conversation

First of all I dont agree with your assessment of the pathfinder at all it's not a lot of money it's perfectly price the ride is awesome and all the standard features are really reasonable I've test driven the Telluride and palisade jeep Cherokee Ford Explorer and it of all of them I chose the Pathfinder it out rides all of those SUVs and one more thing I've owned a Kia and Hyundai the reason why they give you 10 year and 100,000 miles because after that they are no good after that and that's the truth dont matter how good you take care of them it starts falling apart right after that and that's a fact so your opinion if you check the real facts you have no idea what your talking about

@@therightcar and clearly you dont have all of the facts about the pathfinder my guy I'm not saying it doesn't need a couple more improvements but for the price it holds it's on against all these other new vehicles out there now I've test driven a lot of SUVs and as far as I am concerned Nissan has definitely redeemed itself drastically so for you saying that it cost to much your out of your mind......nuff said

@@kevinscott1152 im going to shop the pathfinder the SV with AWD seems to sticker at about 42k which is far less than the telluride and only a bit mor ethan the sorrento- the fact the ditched the CVT is promising- I dont want one of them. I currently have a 2011 Xterra and except for brakes tires and cam sensors hasnt needed anything but gas and oil -
