Ghana and Togo were once 1 country. At Ghana's independence, British Togoland joined Ghana becoming Volta Region. In 1960, French Togoland gained independence from France becoming present day Togo. The creation of present day Togo was a bone of contention between Nkrumah and Olympio.

@sikaabbey8307 5 жыл бұрын
Yes there’s variations. Ewe is actually very broad. You can classify the following languages as Ewe (Fon,Adja-Ewe, Egun). They all have Ewe variation in them. Most Togo ppl don’t even speak the real Ewe.
@Agboka
@Agboka 5 жыл бұрын
@@asanteakan70 Evwhe is like Akan. In the video, the seller of rice & beans speaks MINA, but that is also Evwhe, Geh gbe in Anexor is also Evwhe, Apkorsor gbe another variation in Togo is also Evwhe, so is Anglo gbe, Tongu, Peki, Avenor, Evwhedome, and a lot more in the VR in Ghana. Also variations of the dialects in Benin such as Adja, Fon gbe , and others, and also some parts of south-western Nigeria. Evwhe is the umbrella that combines the various dialects of which to some extent, krobo gbe and Ga Adangbe all fall under it. Our ignorance in Ghana had limited our understanding to limit the "umbrella" to the people of Anlo and few others as the "Evwhe", but rather, Evwhe is the mother name of the many variations with their own individual names. Once upon a time, the EVWHELAND was called the "slave coast" stretching from Prampram in today's Ghana right up to Gbadagli in today's Nigeria. As the late Profesor Hendrik Clark said, Nation-states are not African, he says Africans do very well in(linguistical ) territorial side by side other territories and feed off each other in knowledge and grow together. I think he's very right. Nation-states are European construct that is used as a military takeover of Africa because we all can see, they're not working. The 1884 carved-out nations within borders are nothing but "Concentration Camps" that were designed to abort all innovation and progress. And so far, its intended design had worked very well to our detriment. But we'll overcome them all.

This food is mostly for hardworker , it's not for office workers. Our grands parents have been eating this food to keep their muscles and force or power to work the holl day in their agriculture plantation before colonisation. So they eat this kind of food to work hard in plantation or construction all day long so you dont have time to sleep. Some people eat this kind of food and seet in office doing nothing they can sleep of course. Ama and Maya we love you, and Africa is proud on you.

Togo was part of Dahomey empire same as Benin and Ghana before the colonisation and still after the second war a part of Togo was given to Ghana and that is the Volta region where people speak Ewe same as in Togo. So There is no Togo nor Ghana according to our ancestors. In Togo we have a large community of Yoruba and they are Togolese, same as in Ghana where there is a big community of kotokoli people in a village called Kue, in Nima and Kadjebi, the speak same dialect like kotokoli in Togo but they are simply Ghanaians. It is same all over in Africa so let’s come together and stop 🛑 giving ourselves names. We are all Bantu

Unfortunately I like many had to take a DNA test. The test separates Ghana/Benin Togo of course. I didn't understand why my Ghana results were so low (hence Ghanians in America identify me as one of their's-so i believe them over a test) if this was all one region at some point, that makes soooo much sense now. Thank you for your insight above! What about Cameroon/Congo/Southern Bantu? A lot of us get that as our highest result...were they also connected? Just curious. Peace and love family.

Marie I am not very good in science but I know a little of our history so whatever am going to tell you here maybe correct or not 100% correct, I believe we are all still learning. I have been in So many Africans countries and I know we are all at on point a same group called Bantu... 1- All Bantu languages are very similar if you open your mind you can learn them easily. 3- As for DNA test I believe the specification is based on nowadays little variations of Bantu people DNA. 4- In Togo alone we have a lot tribes and when a DNA said you have 10% of Togo blood, which tribe or ethnic group are they referring to? None I guess because the specification is due to acclimatization and adaption(morphology, physiology, behavior, etc.)... Simply means the specification doesn’t mean we are not same but we are same with some variations.
