Two things: 1. If I look tired, its because I probably am. Thanks for pointing it out haha.. 2. I was reluctant in making this video partially because I don't want any sympathy. I just wanted to normalize not being 100%, 100% of the time. Stay safe, see you soon

I guess you may get something better, empathy. I haven't, but I can see in the comments that there are a lot of real cool and empathetic people that have struggled with those feelings that may understand and support you. You got this, you're such a great content creator and you look like a great person. I wish you the best and the strength to keep going. As Dr. Disrespect said: "Keep sprinting, don't ever stop". Greetings from Colombia. 🎩🧐🙏🏻❤️🤗🔥🇨🇴

If you ever need anything reach out man. It is hard not to be like “Hey have you tried this or that?” And that comes across as being dumb and missing the point. There are people who have been through hard times who could at least share what is working for them, and I know most of them would talk about it.

Thank you for sharing. As someone who goes through low moods, particularly around autumn, and also attempting to finish 50k words of writing this month, the creative struggles are very real and shared. More power to you for pushing through and publicly posting something anyway, which is much more than most, including myself, get to.

If its around autumn it may be SAD seasonal affective disorder which has many ways to reduce its effects such as taking vitamin D or buying a lightbox. Dont mean to diagnose but just thought I'd let you know in case you hadn't seen anyone about it. Feel free to ignore all of this or see a professional who knows what they're talking about.

I suffer from SADs too. I have this little ritual I do (not saying you or anyone should do this...just mentioning it) for the 6 weeks leading up to Winter Solsltice that helps me get over the down/darkness that the lack of Sun often brings to those of us who live in the North. It's called Sunwait. Every Thursday evening for 6 weeks straight, I light a candle, meditate, and think about all the little things that I am grateful for that I might take for granted. My support system, my home, my job, the crisp winter evenings when the stars seem brighter, coffee, good meals around a table full of good friends, chocolate, squirrels, etc. Then I put the candle out, and the next week I light two candles. By the end of the 6 weeks, I am up to 6 candles burning at once and the light and the heat and the gratitude help lift me out of my funk. Maybe you can come up with a Sunwait ritual that you can do! Something private...just for you :) ❤ Thank you for sharing your vunerability. We've never met...but you are one of my favorite human beings :)

Back in the 1990s, I spoke with a RC priest about my chronic clinical depression and anxiety. We had a very helpful discussion. One thing that he suggested .. that I STILL do .. is to pray every night when you go to bed, and thank God for 3 things. Just 3 things. They could be something that happened that day, a special person that you knew when you were a child, the fact that you are getting help with your heating bills ... ANYTHING. At least, you go to sleep in a positive mindset rather than a negative one; at best, you see that your life is full of blessings ... most nights it's hard to just stop at three !!!! God Bless you.

This is very refreshing for me. I have dealt with chronic clinical depression my entire life. While I was working (about 1978 to 2020) it was almost a daily struggle. When I was in retail, which was several years over those decades, it was the worst, because I had to be "on" just about all day. My psyche would just be drained all the time. I've been in therapy and on medication for most of my adult life, so I learned to deal with most issues, and for the most part only had a few times when I just couldn't get out of bed and go to work for days or weeks on end. I was forced to retire in 2020, and for the most part it's been a blessing, but my desire to not leave my house is at a peak. Some days I just sleep all day. As I said, it's fine because I'm retired. But I completely understand what it's like to have chemical imbalances (if that's what your issues are) and have to be part of this world, take care of myself, etc. It's so great that you're sharing ... something I wish I could have done all those decades ago. We need more normal people sharing that there are times when we feel subpar, when we have a struggle just with day-to-day responsibilities and activities. God Bless you. Just let it go. Ok, you are feeling the way you are feeling. You dealt with having to be around people and meeting responsibilities. It's ok for now to not fight it, to not feel guilty or "sick", but to let yourself recharge. That's what's happening. Your psyche is recharging, that's all. "Depression" has been defined as the self going within to "rest", to find calm and peace. Allow yourself to feel that calmness and peace. Everytime that I fought this need, I ended up in bed unable to work. Again, God Bless you. PS Anxiety has been my companion since childhood. Sometimes I just want to jump out of my skin, it gets so bad. At those times, I try to relax and tell myself, "it's just .... " whatever the problem or task is. "It'll be all over by Thursday" or "Just do it, and it's gone." The anxiety becomes its own entity and takes over my thoughts, etc. Deflating that monster is most of the battle.

Man this hit me right in the feels. I have been having a hard time with anxiety and depression for most of this year. it got so bad to the point that i couldnt face work. So i was missing days. I then was taking money away from my husband due to me not working. I also was performing poorly as well due to the big time i was missing from work. It finally came up to head on 10/10 i was fired. 9.5 years with a company i loved. My ego was so inflated i felt i could do anything and get away with it. So it was a huge hit to me because i didnt want to be honest with myself. I have wanted to fall into myself and just stay in a closet forever. I am still not really into talking much about it or being around people mostly. But I have a temp job and i am getting interviews for places i never thought i could qualify for. So getting fired from a company that i loved, but i understand enough is enough. So thank you for doing this video. I know it will pass. Thank you again.

From the other side of the world🇵🇹 to you: I will not say that it will pass today, tomorrow, next week or next month but... You've tried a lot a things and ways. Try not to struggle with it or denie that you're feeling down. You're trying to fight and find reasons why. And you do know what's that reason. That thing that made you stay that way, so it's a valid feeling. Some thing hurt you, now it's time to heal. Time is the healer. With time you will learn to live your normal life again (with it). And after same time, you're used to it, wake up one day and it won't feel that bad, that heavy. It's only time you need Been there, done that some many times. After I accept it, got a lot easier (for me). Try, won't hurt you Wishing you to get better soon Kisses and hugs from the Portuguese girl. 😁🇵🇹😘

I just got out of the military and I know that feeling of just not being 100%. It’s difficult to explain but from what you said, it’s ok not to be in your prime all the time. Just gotta get through it. You’re the man Chris!

"This too shall pass" That is the key to dealing with being down. Depressed mood doesn't last forever.

Depression and anxiety are huge things I've struggled with for the past few years. I go through peaks and valleys - One second, I'm at my most productive, hammering out projects and ideas for two weeks straight and just trucking along happy to be creative. And then the next, I'm in a mental stalemate for for a month or two, constantly getting hung up in my own brain and worrying or stressing. But like you said, when I hit that point, I just kind of ride it out with the "Eh, it'll pass" mentality. Because I know, eventually, something will get the motor primed again, and I'll shoot off into a hyperfocused creative spurt. I think your acknowledging of it being something you have dealt with and can't just "solve" is actually a fantastic step towards learning to harness that when you can, and just give yourself a break when you know it's going to frustrate or upset you. We all know COVID kind of threw everyone into a loop, in terms of isolation - and a kind of horrible reset for those of us who struggle with social-based anxiety issues. But couple that with the usual seasonal depression, it kind of throws a new set of challenges at you. Sometimes, you just gotta ride out the darkness until the sun rises again. And it will. It always does.

I needed to hear this stuff today. The past two months have been rediculous. I was sick for four weeks and my health feels like it's failing. The mental toll is worse than the physical and now the medical bills are coming again. I just don't feel like myself. I don't feel like getting out of bed. Life is rough but this will pass. It always does.

This too shall pass has been my go to through life -- we're all here for you when you're ready and you are incredibly brave for opening up. On seasonal depression, getting a sun lamp was a gamechanger for me. It doesn't fix everything, but takes the edge off.

Thanks for being real. and what you are receiving is not sympathy but empathy. and the fact that you made this video shows that you understand a great deal about your emotions. the hard part is that we tend to respond to our emotions faster than we understand them. I admire your emotional intelligence, because you were able to be real, state your issues with an open mind, know that people relate to what you are feeling. You put yourself out there so that people can see the you that you are without the cameras. and we all enjoy seeing that side of you more than the side of you that is trying to keep things excited. thank you. from one person to another. both dealing with the emotional roller coaster of life.✌

Life sends weird shit your way. I think most people find themselves in your shoes from time to time. Talking to someone has always helped me. I've never paid someone but having a friend or family member help you get through it got me through it. Most people aren't willing to acknowledge they're going through a rough time, so for you to make a video about it is amazing to me, even if it was really hard. You'll get back there again and you'll feel as right as rain.

The very saddest part of all, is this, SO MANY PEOPLE will never understand what 'depression' is really. They have NEVER experienced it. Depression, & TRYING to explain how it feels is nearly impossible.
