I’m super excited to finally own this amp and looking forward to using it in future videos! What is your dream amp?

I have owned a few 2204s through the years and your amp sounds like the best ones you can find.

Oh wow! That’s great to hear. I’ve never played an original one but I’m very happy with how this one sounds and feels🤘

I have an MGL 50 high gain and love it. The build quality is insane. Really for the money-theres nothing better. Try it with vintage celestion 65 speakers!

Absolutely! They’re incredible. I tried out the red circuit and that thang rips🤘

I slam my JCM800 with 2 Boss GE-7 eq pedals.. one is set with a hot mid boost, the first eq in the chain is set with a mild mid boost... use one or the other, or both on for an insane solo tone!
@JordanSteele11 ай бұрын
That’s a great idea! That must sound incredible. I’m going to be searching for different ways to boost the amp and I’ll definitely keep that in mind as an option 🤘
@RobSchauland191111 ай бұрын
Indeed. I like EQ better than a TS or other boost pedal. I have a very dull Diesel VH2 that EQ wakes up very nicely.
@JordanSteele11 ай бұрын
@@RobSchauland1911that makes a lot of sense. Being able to really tweak certain frequencies must really help dial in the amp and boost the exact frequencies you want

I’m waiting for the Friedman Vintage Plexi. Marshall just had a great discount on all their amps. Might end up getting the 1959HW for $2499.99. Awesome playing as always 😎

I would put Angus's live tone captured on "If you want blood" to be right up there with those 4 prime examples. Bad boy boogie!

Angus definitely has some incredible rocking tone! 🤘

2204 is my favorite Marshall circuit. It’s classic yet can get modern-ish when you put pedals in front of it. Only downside I feel is the master needs to be at 7 to really get those classic power transformer cooking tones. I always ran an attenuator and knocked off a few db, still loud but sound guy not as pissed at me.
@JordanSteele11 ай бұрын
Definitely! I haven’t got this one up to 7 yet but I bet that gives the perfect tones. I’ve been running it into a load box which allows me to turn it up a bit more. I might try it at 7 through that and see if I can feel the power tubes cooking more🤘

I think this style amp sounds best with the master on 7-8 and use the preamp as the volume control, usually around 6-7. Need a power station though...
@JordanSteele11 ай бұрын
I bet that would sound great! Hopefully one day I’ll be able to try it like that. I still find it sound really good around 4 on the master

@JordanSteele I'm glad you've got a sense of humor about it. That baby face is a curse and a blessing, no? I only recently discovered you after getting back to playing guitar, and I really like your stuff. Probably should have said that in my first comment on your channel, but I couldn't resist.
