My dad had one these back when i was a kid.I basically grew up in this car. Watching this brings back so much memories

This car was our family car from 1988 to 2004. What a great car! Reliable, with character and great looks... It’s the car that made me love Japan... I have such great memories, summer traveling, stack in snowstorm, my first driving lessons... Unfortunately my father sold it in 2004... Thanks for the video!

I love to see guys who have a vision for their car, and the passion, patience and determination to see it come to fruition. plus, I love the stories like this where a car reminds a person of events from their childhood. those stories transcend any language barriers. I know next to nothing about Japanese cars of this era, but thanks to petrolicious for this video and others like it for educating me.

Wow, 500k on an 07?? Toyotas and Hondas, totally bulletproof. We had a 96 civic that we got two years old and put 300k on it and all that got changed was the battery and the exhaust as far as I can remember. Never skipped a beat. It has nothing on yours, but it was still impressive. Made me appreciate Japanese engineering as a kid.
@cl7player7 жыл бұрын
And I take it to a local mechanic, not a friggin' dealer, so it's economical to service and to replace the wear items, like brakes, shocks, etc.
@queenofyeay7 жыл бұрын
I bought a 1974 Toyota Celica back in the early 80's I had always been impressed at what a fun car it was back when they were new. I totally gutted the car and rebuilt the interior, found a JDM engine with probably 10,000 miles on it for $325 and after installing a new clutch (because I was in there, why not) I put it all back together, I even hand stitched white leather for my gear shift and E-brake boots... I drove the crap out of that car for 7 years. The only modification I made was a Webber two barrel carb. That car could burn rubber easily in first gear, would get a little rubber in second and chirp the tires in third. Being a young lad I drove it like that constantly. In the seven years I drove it I did regular maintenance and wear items like brakes but the only mechanical issue I ever encountered with that car was a broken wire that stopped the alternator from working, I fixed the wire and the alternator worked again. True story. A few years later I bought a 1996 Celica and owned it for 13 years... Toyota makes great cars.
Great car. Toyota's are so reliable. People can bitch all they want about why Toyota still uses the same 1.8 in the current Corolla. It's because it's such a proven motor. Others can keep changing their engines. They'll never beat Toyota quality. Hey the music is nice...who is it? That first song was nice.

@roachm7 жыл бұрын
Isn't it so inconvenient that people live in other countries that speak different languages. God, like can't they all just learn to speak English so I don't have to read! The outrage! On a serious note, it's either this or you wouldn't be able to see or learn about the car at all. Seeing as he speaks a different language and certainly does not live near you, you would have no other opportunity to see this gorgeous car and learn its charming story. I fear this may not be the channel for you. Would it be more convenient to understand the language and be able to appreciate it just the same without subtitles? Certainly it would, but it could be motivation for learning a new language as well. Otherwise you could just ignore the video if none of that appeals to you.
