Great stuff Batesy...it is eerie driving through scorched areas like this...so sad to see !! Those tracks are in better nick than my road to home in Mansfield which is full of pot holes !!! Yes good to see some cattle out in the bush...shame there isn't more of them...but don't start me on that topic!! As my old man always said " leave a gate as you find it" One of your best mate really enjoyed it!!!
@timbates4wdadventures5 жыл бұрын
G'day Craig, Yeah for sure mate it was strange driving through that burnt country. It just goes for miles when you see it from the top. The tracks are in good condition so the fire trucks could get into most of that country to help fight the fires. Those cattle were local ones, but just great seeing them back in the bush. Spot on about the gates mate, always leave them as you found them. Thanks heaps mate for your reply and comments. Cheers Batesy.

Hi Tim, Nice one mate, shame about the fires, like you say the trees and vegetation will come back, some need fire to germinate, but it's not going to be that easy for the animals, forests need animals /animals need forest, it's an ecosystem, anyway a good virtual trip in a far away land. Chears Tim. Nige.

Good trip, again. I've been doing this type of "adventures" for over 50 years. You have a good truck and good choices for tracking. I'm in Texas but if we were on the same continent we would likely be camping mates....drive, stop, drink, make fire, drink, cook, drink, watch bush television, drink, sleep , repeat. Cheers mate.

G'day James, haha :-) Thanks mate for dropping in from Texas in the States. I once lived in Texas here in Australia on a cattle farm. Yeah mate, i do enjoy getting out on the tracks, but getting into camp with a campfire and a few cold beers is unreal and very relaxing. Thanks mate again for your reply and feedback. Looks like Collingwood Spur has been significantly widened in the tight spots. Not a bad thing to see the tracks graded after the fires. After a fire tracks are always better as a result, but they soon get knarly with thousands of passing vehicles - especially the ones with traction control spinning the crap out of their wheels to get up a spot where a proper 4WD crawls over.
@timbates4wdadventures5 жыл бұрын
Yeah Collingwood Spur Track has had a few of the tight spots widened, which isn't such a bad thing. The tracks will as you say, come back after a heap of rain and 4wd's driving up and down. It's a good thing seeing the tracks maintained for sure. Cheers Tim.
