Hi Bill! I’ve been watching your KZbin channel since around the time you started. I love Mercedes-Benz and cars in general just like you do. I’m originally from Atlanta, but I’m in the car business as well and had to deliver an S450 to Fort Myers this last Saturday and Sunday. After delivering the car and taking his trade, I made my way down to Naples to explore the area and I got to see Auto Haus and Auto Europa. It was so cool seeing the dealerships Bill! You’ve inspired me with my sales process so much and because of you, two years ago I was able to finally make my childhood dream happen of owning my first Mercedes W211, which I now have a 17 CLS550. And I’m only 20. I feel like the chairman of the board driving it with that scary German logo pointing to land, sea, and air. Your character is so cool and unique Bill and I’m really glad I got to visit as I got to see where a lot of the magic has happened! Coley, thank you for your touching comment. Well said. I wish you full success and all the best. Incidently, my dad had a fully loaded 1988 MB 560-SEL. Although not the most powerful of all S produced, it was top of the line and drove like a dream and remained incredibly comfortable under poor road conditions. When he passed away in 2011 he still had the car and it was in absolute NEW condition all-over. After that, I drove it and it still hasn't reached the 100'000km on the clock. This still was the TRUE Mercedes era quality, though it may have become somewhat outdated nowadays and people are happy with "perception" of supposed quality.

I just took delivery of one of these yesterday. Paid 20K with 75600 miles. Drives exactly like you state here in your phenomenal, very entertaining, very informative video. Love the play by play! I am adding a rather expensive, made specifically for this car, 12.1 inch touch screen featuring Car Play and Bluetooth. It integrates all the different mechanics that the original came with into an updated huge Tesla like screen. Hope to enjoy her for a few years. Once again, loved the video!

Such a wicked, rare beast! While all the S55, G55, SL55s etc had a supercharged V8, AMG snuck in a naturally aspirated version in a few SLKs! Ultra unique and awesome. Europe even got a Black Series! 🤤 *Edit* Before a Benz Buff corrects me, yes, there was a naturally aspirated 55 motor for a couple years. I was referring to the period when all the others were supercharged, but the SLK55 rumbled a non-blown unit.

Awesome review of this car Bill. This version of the Flying Spur is awesome, but the new one that was introduced for 2020 is even better. The new interior is the best of any car out there and it now has it's own unique platform. Gorgeous car indeed. 207 mph top speed.

Personaly, sitting up high actually makes me feel more at danger than sitting down low. This is a better, more cost effective alternative to a new SUV. It's already depreciated, and the W12 seems to be adequately reliable.

These Cars are hard to afford in Holland Europe, massive Road Tax, Insurance Tax, High Gas Price, and High maintenance cost's. For Example were I live , a Car has to be 40 Years Old to get a Classic Road Tax on it !

Great video, as usual, Bill. Love your stories. Just one suggestion though - you may want to check and read up on whether whiskey or alcohol can help with coronavirus or not. Generally, 60% or higher alcohol content is required to kill germs. But if you're kidding in your videos about drinking whiskey to stay free of the virus like how you kid around with so many things (guns, drugs and the stuff), I was naive enough to miss it!

BTW, there’s a recent History Channel series called “The Cars That Built the World” and they have a great history of Bentley + racing (along with Karl & Bertha Benz…). Fascinating how the company came together.
