I watched something recently that found using caffeine under the eye regularly actually ends up drying out the skin. The caffeine is supposed to be used under the eye only for when u need the extra depuffing etc. But regular use causes adverse reactions to the skin. It makes sense especially since we already know caffeine dehydrates.

Actually, my under eyes are pretty smooth, but I do have shallow troughs that need color correcting and brightening. For this I use Colleen Rothschild Illuminating Tinted Eye Cream. Her product is quite glowy with a hint of peach. I need light powdering to subdue the glow. My prep before is the Niod Fractionated Eye Contour Concentrate, which is watery in weight. Similar to you I live in Key West Florida with constant heat and humidity and I am always looking for advice to keep my makeup fresh. Hi I think many of us were doing something similar for a long time 😂. I don’t use a stick but I do use a second layer of eye cream just before makeup application. I do my skincare as usual with eyecream, allow it to sink in and then apply spf including under my eyes and my eyelids, allow that to “set up”/dry down and then apply eyecream again just before makeup application. I have incredibly dry skin with both rosacea and eczema, plus I am fully menopausal at 52. Dry doesn’t quite cover it😂. That second layer of eye cream makes a big difference to how any makeup looks under the eyes. Best wishes x

I like this "Part 2" video on the subject. Good alternatives. After watching Risa's video I ordered the Aquafor lip balm from Amazon. In the meantime I thought maybe my Drunk Elephant Lippe lip balm would do the same thing. Plus it has other skin care ingredients. It worked just fine. I did try the Aquafor once I received it. The Aquafor seemed less emollient than the DE therefore causing more tugging of the skin. That defeated the purpose in my opinion. I then tried the Aquafor by applying it to my finger and warming it up first so I could pay it on. It worked fine, however, I prefer the DE if/when I decide to use this method for concealer.

Do you apply it and immediately start on your concealer or do you let it sit a while?

I apply my makeup in the usual order after. Sometimes it’s eyes first then foundation, concealer, etc. Other times it’s foundation and concealer first.

Do you need to let it sink in a while or can you go right ahead with makeup?

Ive been using a tiiiiiiny bit of regular aquaphor in the tube in the winter for a while. I do all my eye cream prep. Let that sink for a min or two. Then the thinnest layer of aquaphor. Then let that sink in for a while. Like mayb 10 mins while i do my hair. Then i do a tiny bit of primer. I like smashbox undereye primer. Then that sinks in for a min while i do foundation. Then do concealer/corrector. Using fingers. A brush doesnt work as well for me. Pat pat pat think layers. And finally set w a little bit of powder. Like laura mercier undereye powder. Hope this helps!!!!
