After watching the vods, i took genuine interest in the game and set the thing up on the emulator. A couple things to keep in mind 1- for whatever reason, throttle and brake tops out at half of the trigger press (basically 50% on the triggers is 100% throttle/brake). Someone needs to make a patch to remedy that, otherwise throttle control in this game is a bit awful 2- you can import the widescreen and no-interlacing patches from the non-translated version by looking up the SLPM number on the patches folder, change the remaining 7 letters/numbers to the new CRC and place the file in the cheats folder. Then you can enable them like usual. Game looks much better that way This is a great game that was hidden in the land of the rising sun for too long, really glad we got a translation for it. I was able to beat all 4 leagues in around 25hr

Unpatched GT4 has the same issue with triggers, so I think it has something to do with the PS2's pressure sensitive buttons

​@@ethanwayne6973you would be surprised 1- the issue with GT4's steering is actually due to the emulator having a default analog sensitivity of 133%. Settings that to 100% makes the steering FAR more bearable 2- the issue with the throttle and brake, although analog with C1GP, you can't fix it by mapping the up/down joystick to the triggers (which will fix it without a pnach). Doing the same fix in C1GP does NOT fix it. This needs to be patched in-game (or limit travel to 50% somehow externally)

Although the second fix sounds like a good idea, I never thought of it because most PS2 games use the triggers as paddle shifts and X and Square for Acceleration and Braking and can't be altered

yeah i mapped the controls with modern trigger pedals, and my car is hard to drive esp. in the rain. Wheel spin city over here. Feathering is a little tricky when its either no throttle or max throttle.

You can set the maximum of sensibility for the triggers in PCSX2. Go to the controller setup menu, where you input what buttons do what, and shift-click R2 and L2, it lets you change the amount of total pressure the emulator reads from your controller.

The Elgrand is a funny van to me as well. Mainly because me and a friend used to run 1v1 battles with Nissan Elgrand vs Chevrolet Astro van in Enthusia.... The replays were hilarious.

I've always scrolled past this game never really understanding what it was or taking the time to play it. As a big fan of TXR, and seeing how revolutionary this game is, I'm insanely excited to play it! There's SO many cool things going on here, while feeling like the perfect blend between TXR, Sega GT 2002, and Gran Turismo. I think it goes without saying there is way more going on though overall here. I'm kinda sad this never got the attention it deserved, and I feel it'd be a shame if this never got revisited again... Here's hoping the new TXR is good!

imo I think this one of Genki's best racers. If it weren't for the excessive wheel spin (hard to get out of a drift at times), this would be one of the best handling TXR games. I love that they gamified autozone, accessories, turning them into perk layouts. They even went cute with it, like the air freshener making rivals less aggressive for example.

Man TXRD2 is my favorite genki game so far (it's the only genki game I've played lol), but damn I wish a lot of things that were in this game were in TXRD2. Like the customization options, tune presets, saving tune setups for easier application/switching, skylines not being slippery asf for some reason... all of these and IMO TXRD2 would've been a 10/10 for me. Definitely need to give this game a try when I get the chance for sure, this game looks just as fun as TXRD2

It's been a while since Tokyo Xtreme Racer and the Drift spinoffs, and this game is somewhat being missed out. But however I felt glad that not until this game later gets some attention at last and sadly no such foreign publisher having interest in localizing and bringing this game to outside of Japan. And this puts me to question. If Ubisoft had helped Genki with bringing Shutokou Battle X to the America and Europe, why won't they bother working again and try releasing this game as well? And so far I had played just Street Supremacy (but the original Japanese one) and I am yet to play some TXR and TXR Drift games ahead of the TXR reboot's release next year. And yeah this game also are a mashup of Tokyo Xtreme Racer and Gran Turismo plus it kinda has the Super GT cars since I am into Super GT, and even my pfp is a Super GT Ferrari 488 GT3 racing car.

Thanks for spreading the knowledge about this game. But I dont think we missed out on a " hidden gem". Genki wanted to try something new than just night highway racing on the C1, so they cobbled this together. But they never had a chance against a GT4, who wants another game where they drive in Tsukuba?, also there wasnt that much content in it. But I think this concept really succeded with TXR Drift 2 that had more of everything. Sadly TXR Drift 2 is missing any highway racing and they sadly never combined the two titles into one great game with both highway and touge racing...

I dont remember the specifications but you can either download pcsx2 or aethersx2(mobile emulator ported to pc) download the rom from cd romance extract it choose the folder from the pcsx2 and run it you can adjust the graphics from the settings on the pcsx2 to run a respectful 60
