@alexacosta27743 жыл бұрын
@@bkdmd5352 That's like saying how can you trust doctors when Medical errors were the third-leading cause of death in America. There's so much nuance to this as well as systemic problems that make this statement wrong... but people just go with the headlines and clickbait. At the end of the day you have to have trust in people for a system to work.... and why not those that go through years of certification just so they can land that job as a wage slave making less than 20% of the revenue they generate??
@alexacosta27743 жыл бұрын
@@bkdmd5352 Well you are kind of comparing apples and oranges here right?? Most medications take more than 10 years and several billion to get FDA approved. This was done with so much federal funding that you have to ask yourself What is there for Big pharma to loose on this if they pull the vaccine... in comparison to pulling a drug they developed??? They loose very little on taking the vaccine out and heck they'll probably get a lot more federal funding to fix the issues. Not only that, but this is a vaccine that is used world wide. With so many people involved (talking of millions) if there was any reason for concern it would have already been leaked.
@alfromtx2453 жыл бұрын
I'm a federal employee and I'm having to process all of this. Let me first say that I've never been anti-vax. Honestly, I've never thought much about the issue. It's just that I hardly ever get sick. I'm really careful to eat healthy, exercise consistently, manage stress, and maintain a healthy weight. My last flu shot was probably 15 years ago and I haven't had the flu since 2012. With the CV vaccine, I was initially neutral. I just wanted to wait and see before deciding. But the messaging on the whole thing has raised a lot of red flags. First of all, censoring people expressing concerns or contrary viewpoints. With censoring, it always makes it look like you are trying to hide something. Even if the information is wrong, I would rather see it respectfully addressed. Second, the messaging about why we should get the vaccine has been confusing. One minute, this was a "pandemic of the unvaccinated". The vaccinated were safe. It's the unvaccinated who needed to be afraid. Then, everything changed. All of the sudden, the unvaccinated became the dangerous ones that we needed to protect the vaccinated from. We're also hearing from people who have had vaccinate related complications, but news stations won't run their stories because it would discourage people from being vaccinated. Why not give people all the information and let them decide for themselves? The whole thing just seemed like manipulation. Let's try scaring people into getting vaccinated. Then, if that doesn't work, let's try shaming them into it. And if they ask any questions, let's marginalize and ridicule them. Lastly, I need to mention how this was addressed at work. Just a couple of weeks ago, we were unequivocally told that there would be no vaccine mandates. However, they asked us to fill out a survey to indicate our vaccination status. We did have the option to not indicate one way or another. Keep in mind that we've been working from home since March of 2020. 100% remote, meaning that the unvaccinated have no physical contact with their vaccinated coworkers, unless they decide to get together outside of work. We were then told that we would not be going back to the office. Actually, those who wanted to go back were given the option. But it would mean weekly testing for the unvaccinated, social distancing, and EVERYONE would have to work wearing a mask. So most of us just opted to stay remote and work from home. Then, we were told that all of us would have to be vaccinated by November 22 or lose our jobs. Can you at least see why some of us are so skeptical? I'm trying to research this, aside from any political propaganda, in hopes of making the best decision for my family and me.

All you have to remember is, you can always get vaccinated but you can never get unvaccinated. Don’t let yourself be bullied into making that decision. If you lasted this long and are more reluctant than ever, then you’ve made your choice.
@alfromtx2453 жыл бұрын
@@philosophyofthestars Good points. I appreciate your response. On the issue of vaccines, I think there have always been 3 groups of people. First, you have people who were fully on board from day one. Second, you have people who were on the fence. They have some sincere questions and can be skeptical, but they're willing to engage and talk through their concerns. The third group will never be on board with a vaccine, no matter what. As far as buy-in is concerned, they'll never have the trust of the third group. It's the second group that they're losing with the way they've been handling this.
@robertajolotl32913 жыл бұрын
Interesting point of view. None of the things you mention impacted my decision at all. Though I agree that some of them are red flags (e.g. any form of censorship), I see them as understandable but bad decisions, not as evidence of something sinister. Other points you make just reflect the evolution in our understanding of the virus, its interaction with the vaccine, etc. We learn as we go. I just needed to see the results of several million injections -- after that I was fine with it. I strongly believe, though, that if you feel more comfortable rolling the dice with covid than the vaccine, that should be your choice. The choice does potentially affect other people somewhat in various ways (either spreading to others, including vaccinated people since vaccine is good but far from perfect protection, taking up space in ER, being a variant factory, etc.), but imo it still has to be your choice. Anything else is an awful solution, don't see any way around that.
@basedlifeform54133 жыл бұрын
@@alfromtx245 It seems you are hopeful that you will find some information that will allay your concerns about the vaccine. Admittedly, it would be a relief if irrefutable evidence surfaced that the vaccines caused no adverse side effects while offering a high level of protection. Unfortunately, there is no way to rush time to determine what long term side effects there may be. Also, it is my understanding that the risk of serious infection for young people with no underlying health conditions is ridiculously low. Meanwhile, there are some reports that adverse reactions to the vaccines do occur even in healthy people, although at a very low rate also, but you have full control over whether or not you get a vaccine. These are difficult decisions, based on tenuous information, with the health and lives of those you love hanging in the balance. Whatever you decide to do, take solace in that you did your due diligence by thinking critically and asking the important questions. That is loads more than most have done. Be well and God speed.

Privately you could even ask for "papers", I just won't go regardless if I'm vaccinated. How do I know they are honoring a vaccination requirement then? You don't. Most people won't lie to your face. If you treat them with respect, they will generally reciprocate. For the remainder? That's the price of liberty. Sometimes, some people, won't do everything you'd most prefer, in every circumstance. But it's not their responsibility to bend the world to your desires. If you're too concerned, you have that right to personally ask for a vaccination record, just consider the consequences and make sure you're good with that. @dyingbreed53863 жыл бұрын
@@Starnerdz while I get what you are saying that is not a good example. First, because employment is a voluntary agreement. If your employer requires a uniform and you don't want to wear one you can find a new job. Second, you are comparing a company to the Federal Government. Thanks to a Supreme Court ruling in the late 1970's early 1980's companies have the same basic rights as an individual so an employer requiring a dress code is seen in the eyes of the law as being similar to an individual requesting you remove your shoes before entering their home. It's in no way a violation of your personal freedom A much closer analogy to the vaccine mandates would be the fed imposing a dress code for all it's employees, all contractors and all Healthcare workers whose employer accpts Medicare. It sounds silly but if you think about it they already do just that and ironically they do so the same way Biden is trying to push this mandate through; via OSHA regulations. Great videos, even though I'm still unvaccinated I do get the message BUT - Isn't it weird people don't get tested for natural immunity first BEFORE getting vaccinated as a standard procedure? A procedure that helps to define whether it's best not to vaccinate at all or to use only one or two shots? Could it be that acknowledging the benefits of natural immunity is kind of "officially unwanted"? At least that's what the current situation seems like to me and I cannot think of any reasons as for why this may be the case that don't have anything to do with profit for big pharma, aren't they desperately trying to vax EVERYONE even though that means higher risk of side effects for those who are not aware they already have natural immunity and still receive a double shot? We all know an infection doesn't always cause alarming symptoms but can still lead to immunity, right? So when the government pushes for a situation that is clearly not in the best interest for those with natural immunity, how can I trust them and their vaccines even if I don't have natural immunity? Even if it works for now - How can I know the vaccine doesn't mess up my system and causes problems when the next variant comes round the corner? We have seen the opioid crisis in the US. How can I know they are not simply trying to make me dependant on a vaccine in the future that I would never need if I hadn't already taken the first (two) shot(s)?

And even higher in young people. Any pass is discriminatory either vaccine or immunity. Bottom line: people have the option for the vaccine and have had. Let’s get back to normal.

Amen. These vaccines will never fix the Covid situation. We have 75% of the adult population at least partially vaxxed. That is enough. @GamingPaladin3 жыл бұрын
@@sharongamble9854 If you actually watch @ZDoggMD's video in whole, you'll find the answers to all of those questions better than I can give, except for one: He inexplicably doesn't acknowledge that viruses in general, and coronaviruses in particular, mutate as they replicate. So the danger of an unvaccinated person to the vaccinated population isn't that they're going to pass on the original form of COVID that the vaccines were made for. That's pretty much never going to happen, and that's why you don't see the original strain going around much. The danger is that as the virus spreads around the unvaccinated population, which it is doing with gusto, it will continue to mutate and one of those new strains might alter the spike protein just enough to evade the vaccines entirely. If we had vaccinated enough to reach herd immunity before the delta strain arose (which it did in India, illustrating that we need to worry about the whole interconnected world, not just the United States) this would be over. We didn't, so it isn't. And until we do, this will continue to go around and around and around until it changes enough to beat the vaccines. It isn't that we're in extreme danger right at this moment. It's that continuing to have a large unvaccinated population greatly increases the danger of a future wave of a new variant.

I can't say I love the idea of a mandate but I am also fully vaccinated with an mRNA vaccine (so you can assess my bias). That said, I don't see how this is an illegal mandate nor does it violate any aspect of employment law under OSHA. As an example, if you need to wear a respirator on the job, OSHA mandates that you must need medically assessed as able to do the job while wearing one. Had an HR situation where our employee did not get medical clearance from his doctor. In order to work through the ADA accommodation process, he had to disclose that aspect of his medical record or choose to leave employment with us. We couldn't determine what would be a safe alternative job for him to do without knowing why he couldn't use a respirator. You can't have a member of a confined space rescue team passing out in the middle of a rescue. OSHA already mandates lots of exchanges of medical information between employer and employees.
