Yes it's possible! I did try it, but since I tuned the bass drum as evenly as I could, the mics weren't picking up a lot of the tonal difference. You mainly hear the difference just being in the room itself. The larger side has a lot more "body" to it

"a few" (ahem) years back, playing with a high school weekend rock cover band - I owned a Trixon kit (with regular shapes)... I loved the German engineering in the hardware that provided for quick setup.takedowns. Like this model - the ride cymbal and hi tom arms telescoped into the kick drum-shell. The snare and hi-hat legs were aluminum and spring loaded. These were lightweight, but sturdy and literally just a Snap to set up. They sounded good too and were very affordable. I'm glad VOX is carrying on some of these features.

66Samus ! Ned from Spain here. Awesome kit and playing of course. Trixon had the coolest weirdly shaped drums ever. Vox did license their drums back in the 1960s. I've seen in original Trixon brochures that there are 2 zones of the BD. I'd love to hear what it sounds like with the 2nd beater hitting in the far left "zone". Did you ever see the conical shaped ones ? This would be perfect for Nyango Star to play.

@badwolfsat52 жыл бұрын
A popular misconception is that using triggers and sampling somehow makes you a better drummer or "does something" to make one sound better. In actuallity, it can show how much of a shitty drummer you really are. The only thing they really "cheat" is tuning a kit. You want a kit that sounds like your favorite drummers, no problem, just trigger it. It has it's advantages and disadvantages.
@Vicente_Moreno2 жыл бұрын
@@badwolfsat5 it's not a misconception. Drum triggering makes your hits more consistent than they actually are. It doesn't make you a better drummer, the same way guitar editing doesn't make you a better guitarist.
@Vicente_Moreno2 жыл бұрын
@@badwolfsat5 also with drum triggering it's easier to snap to the grid your midi track so that it sounds "perfect".
@diegoleiva72422 жыл бұрын
Yup. I prefer the tones he got out of this weird kit over his "perfect" tones on every other video. Way more character to everything. The kickdrum was too muted for metal but that snare, holy crap.
