I know this is a tiny part of the video, but I would just like to clarify that Perfect Blue isn’t some 50 Shades of Grey style film. It’s a horror anime that’s more like Oshi No Ko, but made way before ONK. I highly recommend watch Super Eyepatch Wolf’s video about it, but the general gist is that it’s a film about a woman going through the absolute wringer after graduating from her idol work to become a film actress.

2 weeks late but absolutely. I knew a guy in a similar situation, except they're also a predator on top of it. Whenever he would get into a problem with anybody, he'd DM like 10-20 different people in the community and try to get HIS side of the story out so the other person has no chance to say their perspective. But he always prioritized venting through voice chats and calls, which made it harder to get dirt on him.

This! I was thinking the same thing the more I listened to the video. By causing a lack of sleep, that sleep debt accumulates and then it makes it easier for the abuser to get what they want from their victims as well as keep their victims vulnerable and scared. Which, sadly, is exactly what happened to the people in this case. :( I'm glad they had good people around to help support and get them out of the terror he caused. at 16:57 timestamp, where messi replied to a now deleted tweet, someone named usagii_akihiko made a comment about how coming out with the doc and how messi's tweet was "condescending" towards Bapha. Usagii said and i quote "lesson learned right? sounds very condescending. " Thats where it started. I have screenshots of what went down when they first made that comment as well. they then continued to invalidate Obi experience by saying "i have a narcissist mother i know what REAL manipulation is" so me along with multiple people in the vtubing community saw this and called out usagii. They also, in that same thread said that they were NOT apologizing. They then made a tweet apologizing after multiple people called them out for being invalidating towards obi saying that they learned MORE about what Bapha did...when they literally first replied under a tweet where Messii made a qt of Obi's doc where it fully explains with screenshots of Baphas behavior. So to us it looked like they only apologized because people called them out. and then usagii turned around and labeled it as "harassment", I am good friends with both Messii and Obi and i was one of the first people ti jump on that comment very quickly since that was the first thing i saw on twitter when i woke up. A lot of people were invalidating Obi's experience and it was honestly heartbreaking to see. Yes i am happy that other victims got their support but its actually so saddening to see how Obi's situation wasnt taken as seriously as the other victims and how her experience was invalidated. I am just happy Bapha got called out for his behavior and Obi and the victims can hopefully recover and take this time to relax. They deserve it after the hellish few weeks theyve been through calling out Bapha. Now for Glitch's doc, i read a couple of pages of it but i didnt get a chance to read ALL of it because i had audio editing commissions to finish and IRL stuff at home to take care. My ex did EXACT SAME THING with forced calls. He would spam calls on and on until I would pick up, and he'd blow up on me. Then after dropping a call, he'd text shit like ''why are you acting like this, I love you so much'', and when I'd get angry and tell him to leave me be, he'd lowkey screenshot those parts, send to our mutual friends and be like '' LOOK, SHE'S SO MEAN''. It happened so so many times, that once I just literally recorded our call, and when he tried same shit with screenshots, I sent those friends the entire call. Mans was burned down instantly.

Calling someone on the phone repeatedly and don't ask for permission, especially on no-no hours, is something that manipulative, emotionally abusive and controlling people generally do, they also see it as a shield from screenshots, you can tell by how they become extreme when they think they're "safe." Be especially critical of people who say that they love you far too soon, look up love-bombing. If you have a friend who does this, along with making you responsible for their emotional regulation all while they don't know the difference between venting and emotional abuse, and have no clue what boundaries are and don't respect them, and have no self-awareness where they blame everyone else for their own problems, all while everything has to resolve around them, walk away, no, RUN, ESPECIALLY if you can tell that you've become their favorite, that just makes it far more dangerous for you and your reputation.

And then you gave a situation that is exactly what he is going through (family being sick). Yes hes done wrong, but he is right by saying that no one told him personally that he was making obi upset. He was going to a friend about his brother being sick. That shouldn't have been mentioned, especially when you gave the exact same situation. Using people as emotional punching bags isn't ok, but they also need to communicate when things get too much for them. Obi would tell him later and then never did. He was told later, waited, and then was met with obi falling asleep or upset at him. He was not told that any of this was affecting obi. Yes, he did wrong. He needs to speak to a professional instead of putting others through this, but obi was also in the wrong for making him wait and then never calling him. Glitch did the right thing cutting him off when they realized he was causing them too many issues. They communicated how he was making him feel. (Someone who's been on both sides of this. Im not on anyones side, yes im defending his story because i can see where hes coming from and because theres not really any thought on the entirety of this. Its only obis side and glitch's side with a statement of him going to a friend) Edit - he should go to therapy. Him saying hes going to hit people is simply something he needs to work on. Hello! I was the artist for Glitch's commission, and I'd like to say here that she and I sorted it out in DMs, and everything's totally cool! The tl;dr is that it was all very much a misunderstanding. As far as I was aware, the point of me being on the stream was to explain my process and decisions, so that's what I did. I didn't like how much Bapha was trying to push for my ideas and my ideas alone to be the variable of how this design would turn out though, but I tried to go with the flow since I'd never been on a stream before, and just assumed it was an energy difference between Bapha and Glitch/me. I genuinely was trying my best, and if I knew sooner about her unhappiness with it, I would've fixed it to the best of my ability. Afterwards because of her expressing discomfort to him privately, he fed me various postulations that she was upset that she didn't get the "clout" she wanted, and that she probably never wanted to speak to either of us ever again. I could only be left dumbfounded, not knowing what went wrong. I didn't really know her, so I didn't feel much at liberty to inquire further on a situation I ultimately knew little about. So I left one last work in progress to leave the ball in her court so I wouldn't stir up any more problems, since my number one fear was being an intrusion on either of their streams and comforts. She left a react on the WIP message, which doesn't give notifications on discord, and since she'd never sent one before in response to hashing stuff out prior, out of fear of making things worse, I just kinda kept waiting until I would get an actual notification - I wouldn't progress forward until I knew for certain she was cool with proceeding at all, or with what I'd provided. I do deeply appreciate her wanting to help me, and I've told her as much in our last conversation, since that's all I knew going in - that the two of them wanted to support my work, and this would be a fun opportunity to do so. But ultimately, due to the nervousness and unfamiliarity on both of our ends, it wasn't the best idea in retrospect. I wish I could go back in time and just back out of the whole ordeal, so neither of us would've felt any sort of pressure.

I had a man do something similar to me, would insist on calling me to vent all the time, would go on and on about how much he disliked women, make uncomfortable comments about his girlfriend, etc. He was so angry and I felt anxious and upset whenever he was around. I was a really lonely woman in college and was trying to make friends, so I put up with it longer than I should have and didn’t feel safe cutting him off. I didn’t have any friends to turn to help. He made me cry so much, would insist on my time and raise his voice all the time. I suspect he didn’t see me as a “valid” woman because of my looks, so that’s why he complained about women to me. I eventually blocked his number and told him when he caught me in person my phone had broke, thankfully I was able to avoid him completely after a semester. I wish I would have had the self worth and bravery to have cut him out immediately and tell him how unacceptable his behavior had been.

In my case at least I had a terrible showcase of what relationships *should* be like from my parents along with undiagnosed ASD for the longest time which drove me through a total of about 13 or so relationships where over 80% of them were toxic, bad and gave me some form of cptsd added on to the rest of it. I've always been communicative, loving and loyal but that never stopped me from being degraded, walked over, manipulated, gaslighted and abused. The problem arises when we're separating people's awards by race, thus doing nothing but creating more division. Since vtubing is predominately asian, there are less white people vtubing than asian. If there was a "mexican vtuber award", i would not want to win it, because I dont understand the appeal of wearing my race as a label. Maybe its just me though.

Just to offer a second perspective on the section where you said people who have horrible taste in men/partners. While I wouldn’t say it’s a fault or problem due to those gravitating towards toxic or exploitative partners as a result of parental or guardian abuse (I was raised by narcissists and it messed up my perception of what a good partner was because I never learned what healthy relationships look like) it is something that needs to be addressed by a licensed and well respected therapist. Your video was very clear though and I almost teared up due to this hitting really close to home for me so I hope I didn’t come off as rude or anything. If I did I apologize.
