I could see this being ok for 3-4 months and than going thru ALL the data from doing those deliveries, i think it is very likely that you can find patterns on times and days of the week where you can drop from 10 hours a day to 6-8 hours a day 5 days a week and still maintain 60-75% of that income.

There is nothing wrong with working that hard and that much for a life season. I agree that it isn’t realistic forever but anyone can do it for a season to get out of debt, save for a house down payment, or to pay for a kids college etc. I wish more people could realize this. It’s just a season with a great opportunity! Use it. Don’t be afraid to work your butt off. It is not possible at all walmart areas to do this. The built in time delays and mileage, limit the ability for drivers to make money. One trip per hour is typical in my area (2 orders) and trips average about 6 miles each and pay an average of about $10. Not even close to minimum wage. Many people do not tip at all....regardless how well they are treated or who the driver is. Yesterday, there was basically 1 trip offered and 2 out of 3 drivers did not get trips every hour. All that and Sparks DOES NOT FOLLOW their own metrics for drivers. Yesterday and the day before, the driver with the worst metrics got all the trips and the other drivers that had the best metrics got nothing. Some went home. If someone is making that much, one additional good driver would cut that in half in her area.

So in total drove 29 miles spent 1:45 min of my time for just $14. Gas being so expensive and wear snd tear on my car, it was working for free. I came to the conclusion that people in this area just don’t tip. I already knew this but thought I’d find people being grateful for having someone bring them their groceries but NO in this little country town in NC they have a poverty mindset and just don’t tip. My experience wasn’t good with spark delivery. On the bright side while doing that hustle my online store sold $100 in the 2 hours. Her average is actually over 2000 per week to reach 113k. Most stores have (or at least had back then) pickup hours from 8 to 8 (delivery drivers might show up a bit before 8 am), so she was basically working every single minute walmart pickups were available. The thing with walmart deliveries is that they are actually consistent throughout the day, there are no sharp peak hours. The main issue she could have faced is orders not being ready on time, but it seems like the stores she went to didn't have that issue. Also by taking orders from 3 different store, she got more consistency. That's what's nice about those gigs, you can chose how long you want to work. The amount of hours she put is not sustainable, but she might had reasons.

@@LicardoDeBousee it depends how busy it is. Walmart have a cap on orders for each hour. So when it's busy, people are forced to place orders at the least busy hours, evening the workflow. This is not the first time I heard this. I got on spark after hearing of a lady 2 years ago in Houston who made 100k. She will tell you she works everyday walmart is open. Spark has a lot of bonuses and they are stackable. Like they will say do 10 deliveries and earn 50 dollars. Then they may send another text that says do 5 deliveries from 895 and earn 25. dollars. So you are technically getting 10 from every store 895 deliveries and 5 dollars from all other deliveries. Thats not including the base pay or tips. And I'd you do shopping orders you get even more money. I have 13 stores in my market. I only work 7 of them.

I am just starting out Spark. I did my first shift last week while working a week of door dash. Door dash in my market has been dead lately. I am so thankful for getting onto Spark. I know I will not be able to keep up with Brenda. However, if I can get a steady income between $80-$100 a day, I will be content. I am just going back to work after not working for so long, so the advice you give about pacing yourself and Brenda's advice of taking a lunch are super helpful and will keep those in mind! Thank you so much!

We need a better way to track tips. How do we know that Spark is not keeping our tips? Case in point: this morning an offer came up for 2 deliveries at 9.00. I checked the addresses to see if the mileage looked correct. While I was doing that, the offer expired. But, minutes later, I got another offer for 2 deliveries for 19.00. Guess what; it was the same 2 addresses I had previously seen. So, was the first offer low because Spark was keeping the tip, or did Spark plea with the customer to add a tip? Whatever the case, it looks fishy.
@stidwell912 жыл бұрын
@Daniel Brockman But. The extra 10.00 was listed as "tip" and not "delivery."

Walmart probably saw no takers and decided to add a sweetener. I drove a semi truck for a few years, and every now and then my company would assign me to the Walmart grocery fleet. The incentives to do Walmart vs. over the road with my company made it well worth it. That extra 12 cents a mile, plus $15 for each extra stop bonus really adds up. Walmart also paid all tolls, so no company routing to deal with.

To me- my opinion only- it seems better than a lot of the alternatives. Long-term care facilities in my area have LOADS of job openings but pay $8/hr - $12/hr for the most part and it's absolutely backbreaking work for 12 hours at a time; even with loads of overtime LTC workers aren't making anywhere near $100k/year. . So truthfully it's just dependant upon what the alternatives are.

Everybody has 1 good year in them to do what Brenda did. But to sustain that level year after year would be merely impossible for most of us I would think. But myself, I prefer food, and I cannot tell you how many walmart deliveries I have been declining per night.. I average a minimum of 20 walmart declines every single shift I work, which is 4:30pm to midnight during the week and 4:30 to 2am on weekends. This is not thru spark, but on Door Dash and now Uber Eats. Maybe I should start taking walmart orders? I had originally thought that we had to go in and shop for the items, which is why I decline them... I do not want to grocery shop.. but after finding out here in Arizona, that most all of the orders are packed and ready for you, maybe Ill try it and see how it goes. :) Thanks again for the video Mike.... good stuff

shop and deliver pays at least $20 -40 plus tips depending where u live on spark/walmart app. they give u the aisle number and the sections in the store have numbers too. do aisle 1 section 2 takes you right to the item. it’s quicker to shop sometimes it’s 1 item you shop for for $20-40 you rack up more money. in florida it’s 20 plus tips. whereas curbside it’s only 9 dollars plus tips. i would rather do shop and deliver

All of my Walmart orders via Doordash have been ready to go, no shopping required. The only difference is that some orders require you to go n in the store and others you pick up by parking outside the store. Walmart has also instituted a new non food delivery program with DD where you deliver single items to multiple stops. The last one I did I grossed $40 in an hour.. The in store shopping orders with other retailers I try to avoid since you spend too much time in the store shopping vs the value of the order.

You have to factor in the cost of gas as well as wear and tear on your vehicle. Especially these days with high gas prices. I didn't see that in the money breakdown. From other videos on Spark I learned that the mileage given in the app is strictly from the store to the destination of the customer. It does not factor in the distance for you to get to the specific store where you need to pick up the orders. That will take extra time and gas to factor in.

If you don't have a set goal and the drive towards something doing gig work, it won't matter how much money is on the table, sticking to her type of consistency will never be sustainable for you. Just curious, what would you say is the best overall paying gig platform? In terms of what the gig pays and being generous.

Another great video Mike! It's no doubt this is only the tip of the ice berg on your success that will follow in 2022.

I'd love for spark to go as well as it did for her but i'd work about half the amount because 80 hours a week is heading straight for burnout

She works 12 hour shifts makes $35 an hour and works 5 days a week, that’s $420 each day and $100,800 a year.

She definitely hustled. If you worked a regular job, 80 hours per week, at $20 per hour, with OT, you would earn $104,000. You would also get benefits and paid time off (which would reduce that pay some since you dont get OT on vacations). You also would reduce your tax load since your employer is paying extra taxes on you that you would pay as self employment tax. If the goal is to make a lot of money then she is successful, since not many businesses would have the ability form you to work 80 hours every week. If the goal is to not have a life outside of work, she is also successful. Just my two cents

Dont think that amount of hustle is a long term thing .. At least I dont think I could do it.

Half the trips on spark don't tip. Some of the trips are 30 mi round trip for 10 bucks. It's starting to become not worth it. I started looking for a day job.

If you have no life this would be perfect because 80hrs a week is insane!!! Why not just go work for McDonalds @15/hr and work 80hrs a week? That way you would get time and a half after 40hrs, get benefits, get health insurance, and you wouldn't be driving your car in the ground....but I respect the hustle.....

McD's would never schedule ONE employee for 80 hours. It would be cheaper for them to have 2 or 3 employees to do the same labor hours.

Is $17.00 dollars an acceptable ammount for 40 or 50 items? And on the third floor of an apartment complex no less. Seems like a lot of work for the ammount.

That's awesome for her in regards to the finances. I'd be worrying about health, though, from sitting for so long. That work load is just way too high.

If you did some shop and deliver or have lots of apartments to schlep everything up stairs that's decent exercise

Talk about burn out! I could see doing something like this for a year to dig yourself out of a big debt hole or something, but only once.

Now doing it for over a year, if she made that much, 1/3 to 1/2 of it goes to taxes, depreciation of vehicle, repairs regular maintenance when you add it all up it isn't as good as it seems
