Hey Mike. I'm a Spark driver in Great Falls MT. I'm curious as to how you think you are qualified to talk about Spark details since you have stated you are NOT a spark driver because Spark isn't available in your area. Driving for DoorDash or UberEats is NOT the same. Pay rates is different. Rules for drivers is different. There are other subtle differences too. Enlighten me, Please. How are you qualified?

With Uber Eats Acquisition of Postmates in my area I have started picking up Wal-Mart deliveries from my local stores and to be honest my workdays have shortened and am making more money on way fewer deliveries a day just by picking up at Wal-Mart only

I keep getting Walmart orders on Uber eats but every time I go to accept it, it says something went wrong and won’t let me pick it up. They have been as high as 70 dollars and 90 dollar orders that have said it could take 205 minutes. I’m wondering if me not signing up to deliver alcohol is why I might not be able to pick them up. Not sure.

I’ve been doing Spark Deliveries for about a year now and the initial pay for the delivery is terrible $7 for a single and like $9.60 for a batch. However the tips can be pretty good sometimes like $15 to $20 . They don’t show up front and they won’t show up until the next day so you never know if you’re getting a tip until way after the fact. The good thing is is that the name and delivery address show up before accepting the order so if you get screwed on a tip you can avoid the non tippers pretty easily. As soon as I see a good tipping address show up I grab it before another driver does. You definitely can drive a total beater car and do Spark deliveries because they don’t check/care. The downside are that you might have to wait awhile at Walmart to get your car loaded as the workers don’t care about you and if you can’t get a hold of the customer at their house you have to return the whole order to the store or they will deactivate you , and they only give you $2.50 for the return trip

I get walmart all the time on door dash. My acceptance rate for DD is 7%. Half of those rejects are Walmart. The other half are their terrible $/mile.

I did a triple Walmart pick up order today. It was very easy to pick up inside the store, but scanning the barcodes was kind of a hassle tbh. The earnings were projected at $24 originally but it ended up getting bumped up to $41!! Super worth it in my opinion!

Today was my first try at this. I worked about 5 hrs, made 5 deliveries and made $160 with bonuses. This is NOT including tips as customers have 24 hrs to adjust etc. I also was picking up the shop and deliver orders. I used to do instacart for Aldi and I think this is way (so far) better based on today.

One week I made over $500 on this app doing it in between dd and gh trips, now I can’t even get a trip! I think their app is messed up too, I can be looking at the app screen, get a notification of a trip and nothing pops up on the screen. I also think there are too many drivers now in my area. I don’t even turn it on anymore, too frustrating!

Then the following week they post depressing videos about how "it's slow, there are no more big orders, the app must be broke, etc." Like you really can't put 2 and 2 together. You can be KZbin famous or you can have gig work success. Can't always both 🤷‍♀️

I work in OGP and can tell you Wal-Mart will not have enough pickers for items. They run a skeleton shift as much as posse. The staffing effects are directly related to management bonuses. So they are always short staffed. Drivers will make squat in my area.

I think it’s worth it but it depends on your area. My area is really busy & I can deliver for 4 different Walmart’s. Unlike other gig apps you don’t have to be in a zone to get orders. So I can be 15mins away from the nearest Walmart & get orders. Sometimes I’ll start delivering after work & make $80 after tips. If I take a day off of work or work the weekends & do a 9hr day with Spark I can make $240. The only downside I’ve found is that they can send you orders while you’re delivering if you don’t accept them it lowers your acceptance rate. However; if you accept it but you’re “late” picking it up because you were busy delivering other items it dings you on your “on time”rating. Also, customers think you shop their order & you don’t. One lady wanted me to wait at the door while she went through her bags lol. So if they’re missing items or have other issues with their order it affects your customer rating.

I make double what I do with doordash on spark, for 1. The apartments, I agree, can be aweful. Especially when they have to escort you in. But, doordash, is hard to get scheduled time in a good place, One thing missed, they schedule drives once every thirty minutes. So end that delivery as quickly as possible or you'll get skipped. Which means, alot of waiting. Most deliveries are small. And don't ignore the no tip drives. My money goes up on average 30 from tips added later. Now the big batch orders... so this is non food. They have given me up to 19 stops. At 19 stops, this took me 2 hours, at 50's. No tips added to these. Which keeps me busy, no idle time. I've had a 2 batch grocery delivery, which takes 30 minutes pay me 30 with tips. Multiple times. I've also had 2 batch grocery deliveries only pay 9's. So I am unsure if the big batches are worth it

Left Doordash in April to do Spark. Not perfect but lots of promos/bonuses in Phoenix area. I generally drive less miles. Sometimes wait 1 hour for an offer so I bring a book. We have 14 stores in my area and I may take an order 25 min away just to stay busy when slow but bonuses/promos help make up for more miles.

The bonuses per trip incentives on Spark is deceiving! Walmart/Spark considers 1 Trip to be 1 pick up, rather than pee delivery. You can end up making 9 deliveries with one pick up. Making the bonuses difficult at best to achieve.

Yes i heard of it a month ago and i do it from time to time. But some problems with it like any online delivery platform. It has great benefits incentives. It is not always bringing items to your car, it is sometimes that is the case but sometimes you get like 6 to 20 items you go instore to get it and sometimes you shop and deliver but u check out really fast. The associates at walmart dont get anything about the spark program you have to call it ddi and keep asking until u find right place to pick up the pick orders inside. The contact support always takes like 20 min to get to talk to someone. They do compsarte you for an order you plan on taking and not get to deliver. Their is a lot of wait time the orders are never ready when they say they are. The fastesr orders are the ones you shop and deliver.

oh and once FROM WALMART (DD order) this disabled couple ordered a TON of groceries AND 7 CASES OF WATER!!!! It paid so well tho so I was gonna try to do it and then guess what happened??? I got a flat! As soon as I pulled out of the parking lot and had already called the customer to make sure I wasn't going up 2-3 flights of stairs (actually 1 going down a level) and after that, I had to cancel the order but somehow? DD ended up paying me for it!!! I actually talked to a rep and they said it was closed and that I had gotten the full pay! NO IDEA, but I wasn't going to beg anyone to change it! I even told the rep I just didn't want the cust to get screwed over.

Also my tips are generally 1/2 of my paycheck on top of offers which are $7-$13. Batch orders are $4-$5 a house, like 5 houses for $20-25, etc. Some bonuses are like 9 trips (stacked orders are counted as 1 trip) for $35 or as much as $90.

Picking your zone basically just means picking what city you live in. I’m in Sarasota & my zone is Sarasota, Bradenton, & Palmetto. I started with Spark May 1, 2021. There are batches with 9 deliveries but it is usually under five items per delivery

I was trying for a 4 delivery bonus of $40 additional dollars. I accepted 4 orders. The 3rd order took me until 8:10pm, well guess what, Walmart will not bring the delivery out after 8pm. I went inside to see if I could pick it up inside and they said no. So I missed out on that pay and the bonus I was really hoping to get. So far I am liking this better the Door Dash, since Door Dash has started to copy Post Mates.

Ubereats is offering Walmart deliveries in Southern California and they are looking pretty good. I got an order for $35 6 stops 13mile total and roughly 88 minutes. I’ve been mixing that with Amazon flex Whole Foods deliveries and it’s paying well.

Has anyone noticed their "extra effort" payouts getting cut by more than 1/2? For example on 99% of my orders over the last 90 days, my extra effort pay was $10+ on all my orders (+$5 on base pay). Now all extra effort pay is around $4 no matter what the order is. Seems kinda lame to do that with no notice

I'm in Las Vegas. This is strictly groceries as part of Walmart Plus. Offers come on the app, you can ignore them if you don't want them There are bonuses and "extra effort" when the system detects a "2" for 2nd floors or higher and 'heavy orders" as well. It's not a bad deal at all. NOTE: Many stacked orders during a bonus offer count as ONE delivery even though you might have 3 or more stops, but that's up to the driver to accept or not.

Been doing Spark since it's launch in my market last January (2021). I use it as a supplement to DD and UE, although the holiday season has been better use. I moved away a little bit from the straight pick up and do a lot of shop/delivery. Pay is pretty good

I've been driving spark for about 3 weeks now. The pay seems to be okay, but it can be hard to tell. They won't give you a real break down on how much per mile you are getting. They have an effort pay. The effort pay has to do with your miles and time and maybe something else but it is not clear. Again, the pay seems good so far. Just make sure you hit at least 20 trips in a month to make sure you are getting all the bonuses for the next month.

They do the same as Amazon. Mass hiring every few months, flood the app and the older drivers move on. It’s their way of not having to deal with problems once people figure out how the app works.

I worked with Point Pickup for almost a year delivering Walmart Orders. Walmart is transitioning over to Spark currently in my area. Dispensers bring the order out and load into your vehicle. The drivers here typically help load our orders it keeps things flowing and it’s nice to develop per say a relationship with the dispensers.

I only have a Toyota Tacoma pickup with uncovered bed. I want to do this, but do customers really want their groceries be delivered via the back of a pickup? I guess I could use the backseat if the orders will fit, but it might make batch orders tricky. Or I could put Sterilite bins in the truck bed with lids to store the separate orders inside. On Uber I got a few walmart orders this week and the pay out was about $32 for a 15 min drive. Pulled up to Walmart, called and they load the items into my car. I also received a APPLE INC. order (which was really weird) that I didn't pickup so I have no idea what the order was. I'm located in Cherry Hill, NJ (3 miles from philly).

If they say you are getting a bonus per “delivery”, that’s not actually accurate. Read the fine print. It’s actually per batch! You could have 6 deliveries but only get one bonus.

Putting 48K on my vehicle in one year is a big NO for me. I do part time Lyft and Uber Eats just one day a week in DFW area. I have pretty good days sometimes with lyft make between $160 to $290 working 8hrs. Uber eats I don't make that much. Now I am A full time truck driver local delivering to gas stations. I was thinking of going full time on this gigs but after watching some of your videos, I think I will stay part time. I am 46 and getting tired of unloading at the same time I dont want to destroy my car, unless i purchase another vehicle which will add another car payments to my expense.

Spark is cool. I just don’t like that sometimes I can’t scan the QR code to open the application to check out. In 2018 Spark was being tested in certain areas. But it’s best to do an area with multiple stores. Lol curbside is cool but I hate waiting. I just do mostly shop and go. In Chicago most people do no contact delivery so less returns.

Started driving for Walmart (Spark) in August 2020. It was much better then than it is now. They've changed a lot of things which have messed up the system for Spark drivers. Since they made some changes to the app, most of the orders are going to DoorDash drivers. Makes me wonder. If Spark is the primary delivery app for Walmart, why then give door dash drivers priority? The money was good (the highest I've made in a week is $2500) before these new app changes.

I bet it’s cheaper for walmart to use door dash. I see so many orders with 3 or more deliveries and only $12 payout. Doordash only shows item amount for first delivery and it’s usually 30 to 70 items. Delivery miles can be up to 18 miles. I have never seen any tips come in after delivery even though it says customers can tip days after the delivery.

I haven't tried Walmart Spark yet, but do often do Walmart grocery runs on select weekday/weekends. Here’s a few tips I’ve learned. 1) You have to know your market and stores. Which ones are always behind, low on employees, etc. 2) I always help load. This speeds up everything for everyone, but those employees start to remember. I have often received my orders before others because of this. 3) I often receive larger tips on the apps and in cash compared to food. 4) I keep 4 clothes baskets in my car and load as much groceries as I can in those or I’ll dedicate one to fragile things. Then I can carry the baskets to the drop off making things way faster. 5) Similar with food, but I find it more often with groceries. Many people are very lonely and isolated, especially after this past year or so. It’s nice being able to brighten someone’s day or make it easier for immobile people.

In my opinion Uber does not pay enough for grocery deliveries. $8 for a trunk stuffed with groceries especially if it’s an apt 3 flights up. Plus having to plan how to maneuver your cart to the drop off location. I tried opting out 3 times and for some reason they say I’m opted out but I keep getting requests.

I have done the orders on doordash for in store pickup and i love to pickup up giant batches and just driving a route around the city. The first one on doordash sucked as one lady had an apt with no address # listed and i had to return to the store , they paid me the 7.75 for delivery and 3.88 for having to return to the Walmart, and another had a gated apt complex with no gate code listed. My last one though was $17 for 3 houses, one item in each bag, and 2 houses were one block from each other, definitely want more of those. So i enjoy them on DD and id really like them to hurry up for the DDI review part lol.

Walmart employee hear. The spark driver shops for you as they shop they scan the items. They go through self check out scan the barcode. We come and check there orders and scan 3 of them we approve you and your on your way.

If Walmart Spark can see tip amounts in advance, it's a possible they will pay a driver based on that tip. What I mean is, why pay a driver the amount they deserve for a delivery when the customer intends to tip $10 to $15? I don't know the details of course, I'm just guessing.

It was good money for the first couple of months but the rates dropped, its still good but could be better. A lot of drivers don't make life easier for themselves with carrying large thermal bags and buying a portable hand truck. They not that expensive.

I don't understand the batch orders bc a lot of them pay just as much for 1 decent order but with those you have to go to like 10 different places with more driving and I have not seen 1 single tip added on any of the batch orders I have done. They're just not worth it.

The matching vehicle size is for bigger items that might not fit in a compact or sedan. People with bigger cars will hate it.

Mike I just started with spark a few days ago. I had to return a few grocery orders due to either the area being unsafe or couldn't find the home. They came out and told me I can't deliver for their location no more. I asked why and they said because I bought groceries back. I just feel they are getting rid of new drivers to give to their long term drivers. I feel upset. Is this normal?

In my area, Postmates is the Walmart Grocery Delivery app, and as we know, Postmates is almost gone. I wonder if Spark will fill that void. The 24 hr future tip sounds more like Postmates than UE to me.

Looked at the Walmart Spark delivery and it's not in the area where I have been trying out the various delivery services. I've gotten several DoorDash delivery orders for Walmart groceries and for Walmart Express orders they come thru Roadie. It appears the closest area to my location where Walmart Spark is offered is where DoorDash is not active.

I got 4 stacked pickups from walmart on UE and they were single bags i picked up from inside that had the barcode that you have to scan when you deliver it. i was wondering why the estimated amount was $38 but i ended up getting $58 in 1 hour and i wasnt sure how that happened because i didnt see a tip. I guess since i did 4 deliveries i got $20 extra.. Is that how that works? Ive had 2 grocery deliveries for walmart on UE and its always a ton of bags and ive had to deliver them to the 3rd floor. Walmart is not that bad from what ive experienced so far. $58 in an hour surprised me. That will probably never happen again.

Yes I work in Nc and there is no where to get paid I keep calling the number and it says outside of hrs. It doesn’t matter if I call at 8 am , 10 am, or 3 I’m not sure what’s going on
