It's been a while since I've watched. Graham. Great viewing as always. I love the way you always seem to forget something. You're the most entertaining fisherman on KZbin. Great work.

If not many people fish the lake like you say they are not familiar with the normal types of bait an angler would use. But from the size of those roach there must be a lot of natural food for them in the lake. From Justin in West Midlands, England 🏴.

I dunno GP - a basket full of decent roach isnt too bad. And the pike, well, you're the master. And with all the water at that place, it could by a lifes job to find those tench. And tea in a pot? Classic. Greeting from South Carolina David

That small lake is very interesting. The NOT knowing whats in there makes it very exciting. I think you should feed it some more for carp. Perhaps it only has a few carp in it and they might be very old and large. Thats just my imagination! great roach and pike catch.

You are probably right.I have to give it a go a few more times just to satisfy myself as to what might be in there.

Hi Graeme , the last session I had was at a fishery . I used a method feeder with a worm on the hook . I was pleased as I've tried a couple of times before on the method feeder with no luck , this session a couple of weeks ago was fantastic and exciting .
@TAFishing8 ай бұрын
Worms can still be a great bait ,but with the plague of Signal Crayfish in may places I find the worms don't last long. Sounds like you had a good trip and that's what keeps us going.

What a fantastic water to have on your doorstep. Just guessing the more baits you feed in the fish will become accustomed and be more likely to take a hook . If it's not been fished for an age, they'll be used to a natural diet. Could be useful and productive later on to drop by with a bag of corn and pellet, for a week or two give them a taste of what the commercial fishery natives gallop down throughout the season.

Tench best methods i have found rake the bottom leave for 30 min or so then fish double maggot and maggot feeder had bags well over 100lb using this method . Another little tip in shallow waters ducks are your friend just make sure you feed them in the water they will stir the bottom up while feeding and fish will move in to investigate

If hasn't been fishing in a while maybe a few trips and a few pre baits might switch them on to bait as might not seen bait in a long time tbh. Private lakes are like it have switch them onto fishing bait

Those roach remind of a golden shiner, we have over here. There was a lake, paylake, that I used to fish, back in the early to mid 90’s that had golden shiners in it, and you could use a small rod with a small hook with a float and piece of redworm or nightcrawler or waxworm ( waxies) and catch those shiners, but you could catch one and put it on a hook, big hook, I used a 7/0 to 10/0 kahle, just hook the shiner through the lips or nose, careful not to kill it, and throw it out under a big pole float, and you could bet the bank that it wouldn’t stay out long before a big catfish slurps it up, Flathead generally, sometimes a bluecat but mostly flatheads. Anyhow yeah great bait, livebait!
