_Nods_ I've seen then a handful of times now (101 @Rosebowl, MFTM Tour, Devotional Tour, Exciter Tour and Delta Machine Tour) and they have been great every time. Although I will admit I was a little let down by the Exciter Tour concert since I wanted to see them on the HUGE Singles tour, but they cancelled in my city. The concert was great, but just so scaled down compared to the Singles Tour concert I missed... Seeing DM on the Devotional Tour front row (stage left) and getting to see Alan Wilder play drums mere feet away from me was special and probably my second best concert experience ever (after seeing U2 second row center on Joshua Tree tour).

Leo, the Lead Singer of this group is Dave Gahan . I saw them in Cleveland when they were promoting this album. He was struggling with Mental illness and tried to commit suicide. Fortunately he survived. I sent him a very long letter of encouragement and he himself replied about 6 months later. We are still friends to this day. I've never missed a tour since and I get to introduce my friends to the band. Their follow up album was called Songs of Faith and Devotion and talks about his suicide attempt and healing. I think you are in for a real treat 🤗

I met Dave Gahan completely impromptu in New York soon after he moved there from LA. I was on holiday from the UK and saw him on an excursion to the ESB. “Depesh” Mode has so many great hits, Leo, you would have to react to them for an entire month to get through all their hits. And we have mentioned Depeche Mode before, but we all love you so much we bombard you with requests and I guess you just overlooked some of the requests. My vote for their next song is “Just Can’t Get Enough.” It’s one of their earlier, 80’s hits. “Just Can’t get Enough” is a REAL BANGER and was played at almost every night club, wedding, birthday party, or house party from the 80’s when it came out and was still played strong into the 90’s. Whenever the DJs played the Alternative/Modern Rock set, “Just Can’t Get Enough” always played. In my opinion, Depeche Mode, The Cure and The Smiths were the best artists and/or band/group of this 80’s Modern Rock era (we called it “Mod” when I was in Junior High). Depeche Mode and The Cure were popular from the mid-80s and remained very strong into the late 90s. You have just struck gold homie.

@@alexandraaaron9705 honestly one of the most popular song to non-Cure listeners would probably be "Friday I'm in Love". It would be a good start for Leo I think just because its upbeat and fun. Depeche mode can out tour any new band. In the early 2010's they had 3 sold out shows at the Staples Center (3 nights in a row, and added a 4th). Then 3-4 years ago, they sold out 4 nights in a row, and set a record at the Hollywood Bowl.

He's a bit of a miracle is Dave Gahan. Was wasted on smack for a very long time, managed to pull himself out of it. Not sure there are many people I respect more than ex junkies. The strength of will it takes is fucking heroic. Depeche (Depesh!) Mode are an entire mood and it never gets old. Peace :)

You took the words right out of my mouth! 'Entire mood' describes them to a 'T'. I think they have the most distinctive sound of anyone. If I'm shopping and one of their songs is played, I can hardly contain myself from dancing in the aisles! I'm fascinated by Dave's moves. He's a combo of ballet and every other kind of dancing. He moves like a gazelle! So seductive!🤗 Someone described his moves like a 'drunk snake' slitheing across the stage.🤣

It warms my heart when Depeche Mode gets another one! Keep in mind this concert was in Berlin in 2014...They must have performed this song 1000's of times by then and they still put this much effort into their most famous song.

So happy to see that you've started to review these guys. Before there was grunge, there was these guys puttin out new wave synth-pop hits like no tomorrow. My favorite band growing up in both middle and high school. Even had a garage band that somewhat modeled ourselves after them. Have seen them in concert a couple of times back in the day. 'Everything Counts" is one of my all-time favs of theirs.

one of the only concerts i have been to where the lead singer Dave Gahan stopped half way through a track to tell the security guards to piss off telling people to sit down in the circle. this was at Hammersmith Odeon in the early 80's he said they have paid money to come and dance. made me laugh seeing these security walking away :)

Depeche Mode is one of the most amazing live Bands. They all and especially Dave Gahan is always giving everything on stage. One of the most awesome moments when you're on a Depeche concert is "Never let me down again"...in that Song there is one moment where the whole crowd starts waving together. Every! My favorite Depeche Mode song ever since it came out in 1990 and was certified gold in the US and Germany. The song won Best British Single at the 1991 Brit Awards. What a live presentation and how about the crowd and the enthusiasm of the fans. I think European fans really get into their music. Also liked " Policy of Truth" and " John the Revelator" by the group.

Dave is amazing to watch. Some of the earlier videos of him madly twirling with that mike stand scared me, thinking he’s going to take himself or someone else out! If you liked this, Personal Jesus, Never Let Me Down Again (and countless others) will blow you away! Enjoy!
