Awww, thanks man! Merry Xmas back at you! This one is truly epic. Ha ha ha ha! I literally made a comment on Geoff's video saying that they probably weren't shaking the camera, but rather it was from the Geoffquake! Great minds! You're gonna love VoicePlay's Xmas treat too! ❤💚

@@BemusingBill Once again, VoicePlay has taken a song I'm not altogether fond of (I love Louis Armstrong, what a voice that man had, but the song scared me when I was a little girl) and made me totally rethink it. Their version is fun, whimsical. charming, funny...Cheers to VoicePlay! ❤💚

@@BemusingBill I don't know if your videos are already planned through Christmas, but I'd like to suggest Peter Hollens's "Evolution of Christmas Songs." I don't know if you've seen Peter before, he's an excellent a cappella artist, and does beautiful songs and hilarious parodies. He's worked with Tim Foust and Home Free more than once. I think you'll like him. ❤💚

We’ve been spoiled this month by Voiceplay and Geoff. This epic baddass Christmas from Geoff, the amazingly catchy Louis Armstrong cover of “Is ‘zat you Santa?” by Voiceplay and a bonus Voiceplay song/video sponsored by the game Warframe called “Party of your lifetime” which includes Eli flexing his rock pipes with some screamo notes. (Plus two minis currently only on Patreon but they are amazing when they do get released to the public).

Geoff doesn't part his hair, but it usually falls to his right. In this one it falls to his left and I think it revealed more of his "highlights" than usual. He says he is old and boring. Right - not! Great reaction, I really appreciate you reading the description. They are always brilliant, too!
@BemusingBillКүн бұрын
Thank you, my friend! two things I have learned when it comes to Geoff's videos is let them play right to the end and check out what he's written in the description box. I want to give you the whole package! ❤️

I always wanted to get my hair highlighted to look like that but I was too much of a coward so I just did little baby streaks. But I do think it is gorgeous. Even more than usual! And I believe you’re correct about the way it’s falling. Sometimes he’s got a very definite part, and here it looks like he almost brushed it straight back and just let it fall while tilting his head slightly so that fell in the other direction.😊
@MarieDesJardinКүн бұрын
I guess something really scared him -- that's his natural gray streak. It does make a nice highlight, though. It was lovely that you greeted Daryl by name; we see that Daryl is the dancing-est of the Geoffettes. I agree; Geoff is awesome. Thanks for reacting!
@barbarakennedy2667Күн бұрын
Tim Foust also has that silver streak. Interesting coincidence?
@hwyla4416Күн бұрын
Back when VoicePlay did “Just Sing” it was funny seeing Geoff and Tim next to the other with matching hair and notes. As for Geoff’s ‘highlights’ - yes he’s greying. I think it is more obvious under certain lighting and when the light is more warm his hair ends up looking more blondish.

I think Kathy chose the color scheme to reflect the Ukraine origins of the song. The room was empty, and they brought in all of the scenery. I love that people have described this as a dragon chorus singing in a cathedral.

I am more a grumpy 60 year old Mr. Grinch than a cheery jolly fellow, so carols are ... difficult at best. But this GOTH version of a carol? Eerily haunting & sinister, yet drop dead gorgeous at the same time? THIS l can relate to! The arrangement is like a gut punch, sweet silver bells my ass, more big bronze ones! Thank you for reacting to this and happy Holidays!
@BemusingBillКүн бұрын
Well said, my friend! 🤣Happy Holidays to you!
@janetdwКүн бұрын
A lot of us think his God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen also sounds a bit dark. I’ve always found it a repetitive carol and since I’m a bit of a heathen it didn’t really appeal to me. But I love his version. In one of his interviews or web chats he was saying that he had a hard time finding the right drums and he finally found some and they were labeled war drums. So of course he used it for a well-known Christmas Carol! It has that same dark feel yet it’s pretty inspiring at the same time.

Love you so much Uncle Bill! Thank you so much for the dedication. If you know me you know how much I adore this man and VoicePlay. I might have said this before but they were the ones who inspired me to start my own KZbin channel. I can't wait for you to react to Insane (no rush) and I actually have a Christmas song, Mary Did You Know?, that I put up last year if you want to check that out for Christmas. I'm going to try to watch your other reactions that aren't Geoff and VoicePlay but I'm a little biased haha. Merry Christmas. Much love my friend.

Geoff , and Kathy, always do a great job. This was this year's new Christmas Song for him. If you haven't seen it, the new Christmas VoicePlay this year is "Zat U Santa Claus" feat J. None. Another good version of Carol of the Bells ( and the Grinch) was done by Lindsey. Stirling

Thank you for your reaction 🫶🏻 This song is EPIC ❤ Love his arrangements and I love that he uses instruments and keeps the "only a capella" for VoicePlay 🙏🏼 In this one especially I adored the percussion 🫶🏻 And the "middle Geoff" had a way to stare down the camera, like he was going into battle... I literally felt intimidated 😮 I'm not much into all these normal cheesy Christmas songs, but this one... good Lord... I'm listening to it on repeat since it dropped (quite literally 😂) 👍🏻 Merry Christmas to all of you 🎄🎁🥂

The way that Geoff has done this reminds me of a lot of the the themes for both video games and movies. There’s something really all out cinematic and the way he’s done it. I could see this in a video game with all the warriors in a winter setting getting ready to go fight for their lives. This kind of reminds me of that feeling I get when he did his cover of I See Fire: armies getting ready to go into battle. I can definitely see them changing “ding dong” to “bang boom” and replacing “Christmas is here” with “the battle is here”. It would totally work! The cover art is so on point that I wonder if he saw the picture and decided to cover it the way he did or if he recorded it and then painstakingly looked for just the right image.
@BemusingBill2 сағат бұрын
Yes! I can totally see that! He brings that kind of intensity to everything he does. I'll have to go and check out that cover art again. Thank you!

@@BemusingBill I do recommedt to listen to the entire album from start to finish since it tells the complete Scrooge story . But I also know that time is a resource in demand :) ..However if you decide to go down that route ..some info about the album : Not all song has videos but the entirety of the album IS greater than its parts . I would go for the extended version (two extra songs with music videos). Phantom Lord has a public playlist for that version that I recommend: kzbin.info/aero/PL7DX-8QTiEWLCvJDBNwizwvZE8c9PgKdF&si=N_QCV8e-qKKarWWs However two of the songs does not have official videos in any playlist but good substitutes in other places. I will put links to them here (however all songs still does not have videos ..sadly my favorite “A Christmas to come” is one of them) : “The ghost of Christmas present” Official version is without video ..but it exits a “cover” from Tommy on his channel with video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bovMh3iYaJp_e5Isi=kgy7CODgqcCmfL4J “A Christmas has come” kzbin.info/www/bejne/eH-mqn9nm8h7btksi=YEUukJQb5Q3RjGyD (no music video In official version but the last episode of their advent calendar is a good substitute for a music video for this song) And for your own enjoyment ..and if you want too “deep dive” off camera: The Christmas Carol calendar (they did a Christmas calendar for December that year, where you got teasers from the making of the album) You can find it in the playlist section of majesticas channel: www.youtube.com/@majesticametal aaand….. : Making of a Christmas Carol calender (behind the scenes ): kzbin.info/www/bejne/j6XGpZd7p7t9m6Msi=fUasIitWRJOvmKYy Enjoy!!!!
