she says humbly that she only has 3 octaves; which is normal. But if she's trained operatic singer... she has more than a 3 octave range.
@susanfigueroa8722 жыл бұрын
You're absolutely right! I read an articlei in an interview by her and she admitted that she thought because of her training it would be an easy transition to do rock and found that not be the case! She had to learn to belt it out like a rocker with a little grit instead of the smoothness of a classically trained voice.

The thing about music from the 70's - 80's is this; Never judge a group/singer by only one song of theirs. They will ALWAYS surprise you!! That was the great thing about music from that Era. Variety!! Pick a concert, any one from then and you'll hear it all! That's why I Love this era, still. Scorching guitar solos that will burn your eyebrows off to beautiful, soaring vocals that can bring tears to your eyes. It was the best music. Pure talent. No autotune. Pat rocks, but this was different and next level in my opinion. If I recall correctly (and it is over 35 years, so my memory may not be right) she was pregnant with her first child when this album was being recorded, and Pat felt the need for the album to reflect her emotions of the time. Interestingly this was sung in the final episode of Super Girl (which I finally got round to seeing last night) - and I thought to myself, I haven't listened to that in a while, and I'd like to see someone's reaction to it.... so I looked it up and well you had just recorded the reaction in the last 24 hours... so that's cool. As for voice... again this is through my fuzzied memory, but I think I heard that she was trained opera singer.

A friend of mine called this the best pre-wedding song. You know, like the night before when the nerves get to you and you start questioning every life decision that led you to that moment? If you get through this song and honestly, _honestly_ , with serious thought and reflection, picture yourself being like this -- not only right then but also decades in the future, after putting in teamwork and effort and determination not to let the negatives pull you down and break you apart -- then walking down that aisle just feels like the natural thing to do. I have no idea if it's true. I'm all for building _family_ but my feelings about _marriage_ are more complicated. 😅 But it seemed like a really nice thought.
