Thank you for featuring my drum 7:01. You nailed it my friend. That's a pd 14-DS and yes I ❤my Efnote ride cymbal ...its 20 inch cymbal biggest electronic ride cymbal you can get. I now have vh14d and moved those hats to right side in a remote hit stand as secondary. Loving it....best of both worlds 🥁 !!!

Red cymbals are an Aussie company importing direct from Turkey. They're really nice cymbals. I was noticing the lack of Yamaha too. I've made a double bass, 3 up 2 down rig out of 2x full DTX-750 kits and I love it. Probably need a nicer snare though. Like these types of vids 🤘

Love your videos and your reviews where a big part in my decisions on purchasing the Alesis drumset to end all Alesis drumsets ;-) The pic is from my first gig in a long time and the first with this setup. It was a blast playing! PS The triggerpedal next to the hihat is my panic pedal; it kills all loops going out of the multipad.

This was such a great video! Ironically I watched this literally while I was unpacking/organizing all the new components delivered today for my first ever (budget friendly) A2E conversion attempt! Ha! So, given some rather meager budget constraints? Here's what I settled on for now: Roland TD-6V module -$150 Lemon cymbals -$300 An early 90's Mapex Mars Series shell pack (12", 16", 22") - Already had in storage Boom Theory Space Muffins 12"x 5" wood shell dual zone snare (mylar Remo Ambassador head) - $65!! Super lucky Ebay find!! Remo Silent Stokes 12"/16"/22" 3pk -$80 Ddrum Red Shot pack (w/ a pair of backup spares left over)- $99 2 x 12" Pintech rim mutes (one for snare, the other I cut in half to cover the bottom of each tom -$20 Obviously not the most premium of component, but IMO not too shabby of an option for just a bit over $700 total! That is... If I can assemble it all and not have too many hi-cups along the way. LMAO! Wish me luck! Hopefully I'll get to share the final results for the next potential sequel episode? That or it'll be a pic of he pulling my hair out in frustration! ROTFLMAO!! Peace Justin! ✌

I'd love to see a video like this again and definitively would like to know about it and send in my drum set! :D Also, sick about the butt kickers! I had zero idea this was a thing, yesterday had a friend over thats a band I like, he's the drummer, and he plays acoustic only and he was trying my new kit and at some point was saying something like "ahhh it still lacks the... oomp, the kick or something", we talked a bit about it and concluded its the impact you feel on the body when smashing on acoustic... and this sort of simulates part of that feeling, quite interesting! thanks!

Great video Justin! Reading the comments there seems to be alot on the "cheek by cheek distribution of force"... hope you'll allow me to use that! Lol Through the 80's, 90's into the 2000's I was a drum tech for Deen Castronovo, Nick Menza, Ginger Fish, Mike Mangini, etc. Both studio and world tours.I have been customizing drum thrones for drummers for years with this mod, usually getting signal sent from the monitor engineer. As there were no manufacturers at the time, adapt & overcome.. these are Aura Pro shakers (mechanical subwoofers) used in car audio for years now available in theater seating, gaming chairs, etc. My setup is true stereo, the amps are Amazon finds, 300W with a "Sub" mode and adjustable crossover. The only negative is once you've used them it's hard not to have them! The kit was a gift last year from Deen, I've added a couple of toms and cymbel as mentioned but the throne is the highlight of playing this kit! I think you have found a topic you can run with for many more videos! Great channel, one of my faves!! Rob.

I got my first drum set when I was 16. For my birthday I got a 5-piece Maxwin by Pearl. Although It came with the hardware, it did not come with cymbals. 6 months later I got a crash/ride and hi-hats for Christmas. SO, between my birthday and Christmas I used paper plates as cymbals. LOL it sounds insane but I was able to make do with them until Christmas to learn several songs on the drums. :-)

One reason i could never do e-kits is these black rubber or plastic cymbals. Is there sensors you can buy for low volume cymbals like the L80s? O love the feel of those and could do those paired with mesh heads instead of rubber pads
@TheDistortionist
@TheDistortionist Жыл бұрын
There’s a lot of options for low volume cymbals; the problem is their still CYMBALS, which means they have a long decay and are really hard to get a clear, singular signal per hit. You could dampen the hell out of them, or if you have a really solid module like the eDrumin 10, you can really dial it in.

Hey Justin! My setup is: Remo Silent Heads on an old acoustic kit > Roland RT30K, RT30HR, RT30H > Roland TD-50 Upgrade Pack (Digital Snare,Ride and Module.) I hardly use the in-built sounds and use this setup as a glorified MIDI Controller to triggers my VSTs (SD 3..). I like the RT line because I can take them on tour and make a hybrid setup (Roland SPD-SX Pro) as well. Now in 2023, Do the Roland triggers still hold up? I am at a point where I want to buy a fresh set and get rid of the old ones because they haven take a beating on the road. Would you recommend buying the Roland RT line again or should I look at other options? Thank you :) Would you also recommend switching to Roland Mesh heads from Single Remo Silent Heads for more accurate triggering?

watching this video 2/3 of the way through there is a 2 piece kit that uses a DANTE device to plug in a sata6 cable to front of house for his module sounds to direct. My Question is how does front of house connect to my sata6 cable ? Most venues / small bars we play at barley have a pa the works let a lone a nice system. Would I just buy a device that can plug my sata 6 cable into their pa like a sata 6 in to xlr out or multi 1/4in outs???? I've played acoustic sets for years on tour with a kick trigger and only had to worry about that, but now i have Alesis Strike pro. the module defiantly has the low volume issues Ive heard so much about but i work around that . i will be going on tour again soon and would like to know how i can send my sounds to the front of house better. Can you post a video on how to do this or is there another channel that you recommend for this question?????
