Is there a 100% "Clipless" category? Because that would bring new strats to all the levels that get clip-skipped right now. I feel like that would have saved a run like this one. Relying on getting clips kills a lot of runs and leads to big big frustrations like we see here. Sure, there are ways to lose a run on any of these levels, but that's not usually Mitch's problem. Plus, I like to actually see the levels.

Genuine question if anybody knows: Is there an input cooldown for entering a door? I always wondered why they didn't use hypertapping/rolling for something like this, but I assumed there was probably SOME reason.

If you're referring to door 3 it's a frame perfect input. Hyper tapping would leave it to luck

From summoning salts Contra video it sounds like you could expect 10 presses per second at most from most speed runners. That would give a 10/60 chance to get it by just mashing. Better to try to time a single input instead, which for a top Mario speedrunner is probably closer to 50%? Since he can do frame perfect presses, though this is a lot harder to time because of the visuals.
