I used to run a huge entertainment center (bowling, mini golf, laser tag all that stuff) Some kids groups would come in and the teachers marched them in single file and kept the kids in line (the kids still had a great time). While many of them the teachers and or counselors would just sit on there buts and let the kids run wild. You had 40 kids, imagine 200 kids just running everywhere. I did that for almost 20 years. Let me tell there is not a day go by that I miss that place at all. So, I feel you guys.

I once worked a go-kart track during summers. Weekends were tough enough, given family groups and lots of them. The weekdays... there were two phrases we dreaded. "Day Camp 1" and "Day Camp 2". (I name no names.) If you drew certain days, you were sure to get Day Camp 1. They'd be OK just a lot of kids that needed to be held to half speed but generally OK drivers. Day Camp 2 was less predictable, both in when they'd show up and in how they drove... er, sorry, how they drove was predictable, just HOW bad it was that day was the unpredictable part. So yeah, I hear ya on the kids on the golf course. Sounds like some of them are getting raised right, some of them need education, and some of them are going to need a healthy dose of "real life hurts" before they learn properly.

The next time you’re in Raleigh, the Bahama Breeze is on Wake Forest Rd right at I-440. It’s on a hill on the left as you’re heading up Wake Forest away from downtown so you can’t miss it. Downside…traffic really sucks there getting back on to I-440 especially if you’re heading east! :( Fun fact: Raleigh was founded as the permanent state capital by legislation to be within “ten miles of Isaac Hunter’s Tavern”. When you’re at that Bahamas Breeze, the historical marker is just a little further up the street to the right! :)

I purposely avoid corporate/chain restaurants when I travel. I only go to local places or places that locals recommend that I CAN’T eat at back home because that is the only time I can eat at those spots. Plus a lot of times the best food comes from some small greasy family owned place. Not the place with theming and an advertising budget. Chain restaurants have to ship their food frozen. Mom and pop local places use fresh ingredients and make their food with love. You also wind up getting to try dishes you’ve never had that can become new favorites that are exclusive to that part of the country that you can’t get back home. Not only is the food usually better but you get to experience the local culture and cuisine. When I’m traveling I never eat somewhere I can eat at back home. Even if I already know I like it. I’d feel like I’m missing out on part of the whole experience of the place I’ve traveled to … experience. Lol

My guess is that the lady who objected to your camera was probably relying heavily upon Section 3 under "Commercial Activities" of the published "Photo and Video Policy" reproduced below. The site doesn't actually tell you how you'd go about getting a permit from Des Plaines Park District or the SLA for receiving one which might make it harder for them to really enforce their policy if they tried to push the issue. Normally when I've seen restrictions on photography in public parks, it's usually been a variation on requiring a permit for commercial shoots that might involve equipment/lighting/props/crew that might interfere with enjoyment of the park by other patrons. As long as the restrictions are reasonable to protect the property from harm and are content neutral to impose the least amount of restriction upon First Amendment rights, the courts have generally held that such restrictions are reasonable to balance the interest of the photographers and the public as well as the government's interest in maintaining the park for all to enjoy. Most of the time where I've needed to shoot in one of Wake County's parks (Historic Oakview is a favourite of mine and it's very conveniently located!), as long as I'm not bothering anyone else or interfering with their enjoyment of the park, I've generally been left to my own devices. They do have a registration/permitting system in play for commercial shoots for clients that would probably be a good idea just in case someone decides to actually check your permit and have you bugger off if you don't have one. I can't imagine how Des Plaines or anyone else could reasonably refuse you permission to film your videos, especially given how polite and considerate you've consistently been to other patrons through the years even when the golfers round you are the sort a lesser person would introduce to the bottom of the village well! The fact that you've been filming these videos for so long and this is the first time you've ever been given any hassle about it is rather a miracle, if you ask me! :) Frankly, this world full of strife could use a lot more visible instances of unbridled love and seeing you and Elisha (and occasionally your parents!) having fun and genuinely loving each other's company in a positive way really brightens my day when I see a new video drop! Don't let the jerks or the people who were toilet-trained at gunpoint to treat regulations and ordinances as some sort of suicide pact get you two down! Your fans need more lovey dovey mini-golf videos! :) ===================================================== Photo and Video Policy ... COMMERCIAL ACTIVITIES ... 3) No person may use any park district property for the purpose of taking photographs or video for sale as physical or digital images, filming an advertisement, television program, or movie or social media-such as but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, KZbin, SnapChat and other apps-without first obtaining a permit from the park district. Approval of any permit is based in part on the impact the proposed use would have on residents and on park district programs, events, and services, and the amount of revenue to be derived from an approved use. www.dpparks.org/park-district-policies/

Sadly, we were rarely wrong... :( That's why most of the locals never bothered being on the beach north of the Pirate's Cove but instead would head south toward the Ponce Inlet Light. Most of the tourists never made it that far which made for happy locals! :)

The only reason I could see why those courses will only allow filming with your phone is because people are probably taking advantage of it and instead of just filming it with a hand held camera like you do they use tripods and set up eat shot which takes time and slows everyone else down. The only time you set up shots is when the course is empty and you are not holding anyone up from playing quickly.
