You are the only artist I've found that gives extensive instruction on using watercolor pencils without putting the color down on a pallet first. Although I know this is another technique to use, it's also very helpful to see you directly lay down the color on paper and then to activate with water. Thanks so much for your tutorials!

I love my watercolour pencils even more than my paint. It gives me 3 enjoyable things to do for one painting. First I get to draw, then colour in, then turn it into a painting. Win win win 😁 My soluble graphite pencils just arrived on Thursday so I’ve been playing with those too. I love that you can go easy on the water and keep some lines or use a little more and completely dissolve all lines. They are perfect for doing things like grey fences and stones as well. I hated my watercolour pencils when I first got them a few months ago now I’m completely addicted to them and I have the same brand as you do, they are fabulous ❤

As a Colorist I have been using Farbercastel and Inktense pencils and blocks. I am now exploring watercolor and your video is so exciting for me. I am confused about what kind of pencil you are using to do your drawing??? Thanks!

Excellent advice about blunt pencils, light pressure, and layering! This one is going to be a game changer for many people... Which brand and weight of cold-pressed paper is that? More watercolor pencils!
@paintingandchocolateАй бұрын
Thank you, glad you enjoyed! It's my usual Arches cold press 100% cotton. I also use hot press sometimes. 300 gsm
I used to think why not just use watercolor paint but after using watercolor pencils i realized they give really different results .😊

@@Amanda-uc5jq more than paint?? That’s bold 😮 definitely need to give them another go then!
@Amanda-uc5jqАй бұрын
@ yep 🤣🤣 I find them less stressful than paint and the colouring in part is quite therapeutic. I think once you figure out you can melt colours together with a lot of water or get very fine details by using just a tiny bit of water on a detail brush you really start to enjoy it. I love doing really detailed eyes with pencils (I also enjoy them in paint but prefer the precision of pencil without the worry about shake of brush) and the fact you can just take a couple of pencils, sit on your lounge with one brush and some water is great. It takes a few goes to get it but once you do its amazing, you get to draw, colour in and paint what more can you ask for? 😁
@Amanda-uc5jqАй бұрын
here’s a link, I just added a few photos, keep in mind I’ve only been doing art for less than 4 months and I’m doing oil pastels along with a lot of other stuff so not just learning watercolour, also only self taught and have limited colours at the moment. For the eye I did use fine liner for lashes but only because I was too lazy to get off the lounge to sharpen my black pencil 🤣 kzbin.infoUgkxO4LsZjuxLxxH-44uKPWW1xQdtzW_12XT?si=Y14fdCyvJkXf7vIz
