Ever heard the expression “the more you put in the more you get out?”. Taylor and Jeremy’s Kurtz Orchard Wedding at Gracewood Estate is a prime example of putting this into practice. A beautiful ceremony under the trees?…. Check. Brass band?….. Check. Sparkler First Dance?….. Check. Silent Disco?….. Of course! And we’re only scratching the surface….
Kurtz Orchards is located in the heart of Niagara on the Lake and surrounded by orchards, gardens, vineyards and escarpment. What’s so great about this amazing venue is that it gives couples so much opportunity to give their guests an amazing experience. By having a Kurtz Orchard Wedding you’re giving yourself so much choice when it comes to figuring out where you want everything to happen and how you want it to feel.
You can go with luxury, glamour and gourmet cuisine. Or you can embrace the spectacular Niagara-on-the-Lake scenery, with a relaxed nature-filled wedding and European-style dinner reception. You can also be like Taylor and Jeremy and do it all.
“OOHHHHHH MYYYYYY GOOODDDNEESSSS MAAARRKKKK!!!What a freaking masterpiece!!! WOWOWOW! We are obsessed. Thank you thank you thank you!!! This is truly a masterpiece! And I’m not saying this lightly I’m so glad that the chances worked out that you could capture our special day” - Taylor & Jeremy

That was fantastic! honestly, great job 👏🏽 I just have a question regarding the recording, was the S5 recorded internally? or externally? how does the Lumix hold up recording slow motion without an external recorder?
@KismetCreative

Thank you so much Alejandro! Yes, all internal. I find that the 60p is great with the internal codecs. I don't think an external recorder is necessary for weddings.

Hey! great video! In love with the colors! Can you tell me the settings of the S5 and the x-t3 you used? I've got the same situation filming a wedding with these both cameras. Thank you so much

Thank you very much! The S5 is Vlog and the XT3 is HLG. I used the Panasonic VLOG Lut to convert to 709 and just used the "Rec 2020" setting in FCPX to convert HLG. Then corrected and graded from there. Hope that helps.

Nice job! How long was this in the editing suite? Love the variety of shots during the vows. How many videographers? Just so much variety, I shoot alone and only dream of having this much content in my videos.

Thank you! I spent quite a bit of time on this edit actually. It was meant to be around 5 minutes long but there was so much good footage that I couldn't leave it out! It was just that kind of wedding where the couple really went all in on making an incredible experience of their guests. We shot with 2 videographers for this wedding.

Great work man, but why 720p upload. Your equipment deserves a 1080p upload.

Thanks! I actually uploaded it in 4k. You just need to click on the cog wheel to select the resolution you want to view in.

Hi, guys. So beautiful!!! Love your work. I am thinking of switching from my Sony a 7iii to S5. How do you find working with that camera and editing? I am struggling with the colours on a7iii and too many choices of Picture profiles are driving me crazy as I still can't get the right colours. Is V-log on S5 easy to grade? Thank you in advance. Tanya

Thank you very much! My second shooter actually has an A7iii that we use sometimes as a safety cam. I always struggle with the colours on that camera too. The image on the S5 is so much better and I think you'll be happy to move over. Vlog is very easy to grade. I just use the Panasonic Vlog lut to get started but I know there are plenty of others that you can use.

@@KismetCreative Thank you soo much for getting back to me. I think I will rent one for a week and see how I get on with switching over. Mid wedding season can be scary! It is encouraging though. How do you find the AF? I do lots of manual on the day, but need AF for some of the day. DO you use AF at all and in what situations? Thank you once again! Really appreciate the advice.

@@tanyaallenbyfilms Yeah that's a great idea. Don't worry about switching mid season, it's not that big a change. And it also means the rest of your films this year will look even better! AF is nothing close to Sony level, but still useful imo. I use it for more static shots (some prep, mingling, cocktails etc). I have the Lumix 1.8 primes and they have AF switches on them. So the way I use AF is to lock onto the subject, and then I switch back to MF so that it doesn't hunt. It seems to me that the camera actually does a pretty good job of identifying what should be in focus, but the processor is too slow to keep up. So when you make it easy for the camera it does OK. So shooting 4k 24p Vlog is harder (since it's high res and there's little contrast in the image), but shooting 1080 60p in a more standard profile is actually pretty good, even for tracking. Hope that helps!

@@KismetCreative Heya! OK, made that switch with my A Cam and got Lumix s1h and will change the other two B cams to s5 next week. Love the colours on Lumix so far!! and that IBIS, OMG! Wanted to ask a couple of questions, as absolutely love love your image quality and would love to learn how to achieve this standard with the Lumix. Do you shoot wide open with ND filters or change the aperture? and the V-Log - does it take long to grade and when you shoot on the day, is it difficult to expose? I have always been too scared with a7iii to do the S-Log as everybody is saying it is hard work to get it right in the post and it doesn't work for the evening footage. Is it the same for Lumix? Do you shoot Slow Mo in 4K with the crop or FHD without the crop? I really appreciate your advice. Thank you so much in advance. x
