I love the maggies around my house. The parents and baby number 2 were in my yard a couple of hours ago, listening and feeding on the bugs in the soil. They can hear them! 🇦🇺🥰🥰

You know I saw a very strange thing a few years ago. A building that was used by police or correctional services, had something like 20 magpies on their property, some were even in cages. They all seemed pretty happy but I just didn't understand what I was seeing. I asked a few people I worked with about it but no one really knew what happened there, just that it was something to do with the police.

I saw it on a documentary that by looking at a magpie directly and talking to them helps them feel assured. its now something I do all the time when walking my dog. They clearly now recognise and don't freak out that my dog is with me. When they're in swooping season, I just look straight at them and talk. They somehow acknowledge that it's me and don't swoop.

My cat used to play with the juvenile Maggie's and they would sit on the gutter and call her to come outside of she wasn't already . They would chase each other around but never hurt each other. They are such intelligent birds and their songs are beautiful

Now whilst the Coles CEO did not know of the term Colesworth was noteworthy, the hissy fit that Brad Banducci pulled when he walked out of the interview only to return later was pure Gold. That is real grass. We just use a mower to cut it and we pull out the weeds. It depends on the type of lawn you plant but we like Sir Walter, it makes a great lawn. Magpies are very intelligent and are easy to befriend. I used to hand feed some around our house but they were bringing their friends and got too many. I keep a bird bath in the garden for them to drink water and to cool off in summer so I never get swooped in my neighborhood.

I worked in a Cafe for a little while during my chefing days where the 'executive' chefs method for making the chicken schnittys was to pound out an already crumbed, half chicken breast, purchased from the supplier all ready to go, then folding it and pounding it out several times over until he was left with a mush of chicken, breadcrumbs, egg and flour, then crumbs it! I was appalled. It was absolutely the worst I've ever seen, wasn't even big! Just a glorified chicken nugget. I apologise if I just caused anyone any trauma.

In 1 bowl, grab some flour with salt & pepper; 2nd bowl, egg & I add a teaspoon of soy sauce; 3rd bowl, panko breadcrumbs & add some sesame seeds, then dip the chicken in all 3, then into the pan for 2-3mins each side. 👍

Ryan, you’ve developed a negative attitude towards both Woolworths and Coles, without ever having set foot inside either supermarket, and believing all the crap on Reddit. I shop at both of them and I have no complaints about their pricing. I compare them to each other sometimes, but they have different products for at least half of their inventory. Usually I buy what I need and watch the total spend, then trim it back to within my budget. If something is higher than normal, then I can leave it until another time. As for colesworth, I’ve only ever heard that from you, Ryan.

Did you watch the 4 corners episode? As an Australian, I definitely see the duopoly as problematic. As a collectivist society, I think the question is about the ethics behind how much profit they should be able to make given their almost complete control of the marketplace. There is no question in my mind that the cost of living/inflation has increased for their supply chain - diesel for trucks, wages, electricity, insurance. Of course their prices have had to increase too. But it should be, ethically, in line with inflation. It's kind of a murky thing...our capitalist society co-existing with our collectivism. In America they just shrug and accept that $700 medication is $10 in other countries, that the poor can't access higher education and healthcare...it's every man for themselves. In Australia, we value looking out for the underdog, even if that means a little bit of "Robin Hood". And the Colesworth model doesn't align with that mindset...
