Excellent episode and provides the answer to a question I wrote in to you a couple of months ago asking how you keep your gold rims so clean and well presented. At that time you said there’s no magic to it, you just keep them clean… this episode, with you using the WD40 and the Oxford Bike degreaser has given me the answer that has helped me bring my 1250GS’ gold rims back to life as they somehow lost their satin shine in the year that I have ridden the bike. Went to Madame Tussaud’s one year ago when we came to London from New York! It was fantastic and should not be missed if you are visiting London! What a fantastic city! My Mom was born and raised there! Lots of family history for this New Yorker to explore! Great video sir! As always.

Nice selection of "magazine articles" this week. I'm glad you tried the Bike Shed so I don't have to. There's no way I would pay in advance for a non flexible slot just to visit an expensive cafe even if it does have a few custom bikes on show. It looks more hipster Shorditch trendy hangout than a proper bikers cafe and very much not my cup of chai latte.

Regarding London Congestion and ULEZ. The Congestion charge doesn't apply to bikes but it may be worth checking if the GS passes ULEZ by using the UK GOV ULEZ checker online. You should be OK with a 14 plate however better safe than sorry. I live on the outskirts of London but since the introduction of 20 MPH I don't bother going in to the centre anymore. I rode in Central London for 15 years and never had a problem at 30 MPH Loving Twits

Love your VFR…BEAUTIFUL. I’ve got a 2002 VFR in silver, still looks like new thanks to Honda build quality, only 24k miles I’m considering selling it but I’m in love with her and can’t make my mind up. Superb all rounder eh? None of today’s electronics …..don’t need them to enjoy riding!

Another VFR owner here. Mine used to have white wheels, and the colour name was shasta white; I presume it got its name from the white peaked mountain in the photo!? Every day’s a learning day. Great vid MrTMF. 👌

TWIT - proving to be a good format. Much enjoyed. Thanks for this Andy & Carol. Agree, bus lanes in London great for slipping through traffic but vigilance where temporarily ending at any LH turn. Rule of thumb - red routes are bike permissible; yellows vary… but the 20 mph is painful. I’ve all but stopped riding in for work. Thanks again

I said WD40 was the way to go for wheel cleaning, however I would spray it on the rag or paper towel rather than on the rim directly, purely to avoid inadvertently spraying it on the tyre. You should try the Ace for it’s breakfasts, better, cheaper, including tea or coffee and toast.

Awesome episode. Re: electrical tape on visor to block out the sun, I have been doing this for the last couple of decades, but, I've been putting the tape on the bottom of the external visor rather than the internal drop down visor. Here in Australia, I ride with the internal visor down all of the time, as I wear prescription glasses I use the darkened internal visor instead of sunglasses and the external visor open to allow for adequate airflow in our warmer weather. I then adjust the external visor with the bottom taped, to shield the sun from my direct line of sight. Loving your channel as always Andy.

I worked around the corner from Old Street, on City Rd in the 80s and remember the "Dirty Lord Nelson" with some fondness. It was raided by the police the first time I was taken there by some of the lads at my first job. The first copper through the door was well over 6 foot 6 and vaulted our beer laden table in one stride without spilling a drop. Due to his wingspan he managed to grab all four of the "entertainers" that lunchtime in one go. Great times!

WoW…great tip ref the sun visor! Me and the missus were talking about this only the other day when riding into the sun. In the early 70’s, we had open face helmets with clip on peaks. Those were the daze! Thanks..will definitely try that. 👍🏻

I had a flat battery on my SX Kawasaki 3 years ago put it on charge , it’s still working okay at the moment , the bike is a 2017 original battery, not taken a bike though London probably best part of 40 years, enjoyable video, 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Hi Andy, my solution for those moments when you come round a bend and get a faceful of low sun is to buy a length of 'Gavin & Stacey' sun visor for car windscreens and stick it across the outside top of the visor. When you need it, you just nod your head a little until it is between your eyeballs and the low sun ☀️. Perfect. When the sun goes out of sight, just raise your head a few degrees and you can see again. No fumbling with your visor button and you retain full use of the sun visor for when you need it. Voila. You're welcome. 😊

Couple of additional comments- Me and Mrs Me have visited the Bike Shed (on train/tube) love it - particularly the breakfast (especially the black pudding). On a more serious note - glad to hear your Local Honda dealer offering excellent customer service. Unfortunately my local Triumph Dealer (Pidcock Triumph) have, along with their BMW and Ducati dealership just gone in to administration/liquidation. There must be more that we can all do to further support our local motorcycle dealerships (and perhaps more that they can do to engage with us customers/punters). Also maybe something that you and your motorcycle vlogger pals can help to promote going forward as (along with our public houses) more and more dealerships seem to be falling by the wayside. 🏍️👍

Excellente'! When I owned my '83 Suzuki GS650M Katana with a shaft drive and a 6.1 Gallon (US) tank, after I cleaned it up I would spray the black engine with WD40 and it made the bike look great! It would smoke for a bit when it warmed up but no problems at all with that and as I said, it looked great! The "Phlying Phlea Circus" is coming to town(e) even in the USA. I think I will pass but that doesn't mean others shouldn't give it a go, at least those out there that can test ride and report back on it, especially so if it can be had for a week or two for a more thorough real world review! Both cafes looked nice and I appreciate being able to see them through the eyes of Kim Jon Carole, LOL! As Thee Beatles said, "A Splendid Time is Guaranteed for All!" My thanks to you both and your friends for look at London. SS in Hades (commiefornia), USA. But now with AC !! HUZZAH, indeed!

Hi Andy, a cheap investment, especially for someone with multiple bikes, is a battery tester. As these will tell you if you have any life left in a battery. Best recent investment I’ve made for mine as it simply takes out the guess work by providing a yes or no. Another handy unit is an OBD2. As this will enable you to read fault codes and delete them if they aren’t anything to worry about. It’s what the dealerships use and charge accordingly for labour if out of warranty. 1 hour of labour cost will be approximately the same as the cost of the unit.

Yes I do have a battery tester as it happens and the Wing battery is fine.....might have to look into an OBD Reader thing - not sure where I'd plug it in on the WIng though (I have a unit specifically for my BMW)....

The only way to shift chain lub is Paraffin, 5lt bottle lasted me over 15 years, cheap as F...... And it's still,over half full and I'm now running a shaft drive.... Doh!!! Loved those cans on the VFR... 👍👍👍

@TheMissendenFlyer oh I imagine so, as I'm not a terribly big fan of the big cities here in Texas, where I'm from. However, I love the rides you have on your country lanes away from the big cities and I've made that comment to you before. Seems everywhere you ride, there's a hedge row on both sides of you and very narrow roads, compared to us here in the US. Most times that kind of riding here, is on a dirt or gravel, off road. What a great place for a meal , love the way in , I couldn’t cope with riding in London though I would go on public transport 😩lol. That building did come across as weird on camera, well worth taking a photo. I have to say I like this video where you talk and show different things including rides , the variety is good to watch , you are getting very professional with your new mics . You could do a radio show from your studio lol😊.

Brilliant liking the new “TWITS” programme. Good mixture of content. I have only been to the Ace once, not sure if the bike shed is my cup of tea. However always a good experience to try. I used the WD40 method, however sprayed directly on a rag first then wiped the wheels. The idea of the “Flyers on tour” will be one to look out for in the future. Great biker cafe up near me is the Two Flags. Maybe a section in another episode “recommended biker Cafes”.

Enjoying TWITS. Just back from ECMA there will be plenty for you to test next year! The Kawasaki sounds great. Paraffin is also good for cleaning grease. Cheap but messy. I have been to the bike shed a few times. Nice food but pricey. The Ace does a better breakfast. My Triumph dealer in York is better than both.... and cheaper!
