I really appreciate you mentioning the Fire danger! So many people think the "big" fires only happen in California... they DON'T. As many of us know we just had a massive wildfire in the Texas panhandle and portions of western Oklahoma very recently. Not many people are aware what to do when we are under "Fire Weather Watch" (as we here in Oklahoma right now). Obviously, you want to check around the parimeter of your home/property to make sure there's not a lot of undergrowth or other "fuel" sources for a fire to spread rapidly. Make sure you have gas in your car if you unexpectedly need to evacuate. But **MOST IMPORTANTLY** you want to stay aware of what's happening AROUND you. If you see smoke, CALL IT IN. Don't just assume that someone else already has. Know your location, and do your best to explain where the smoke is ORIGINATING in relation to where you are (is it to the north? Is it west? Is it about 2 miles away?). Even if you don't know exactly where it's coming up from, you can still call 911 and just say, "hey, I live at such-and-such and there's a lot of smoke in the air". But please PLEASE.... CALL IT IN.

Thank God that my wife and I packed up our little ones and moved out of Oklahoma back in 2022, its to destructive to raise a family there, plus we don't want to live life wondering if a huge tornado will wipe us out. We are back in at our home state in PA safe and sound

Everyone in the country has seen Cal fire respond to fires in California. The largest aerial firefighting fleet in the world- $5 billion budget. Texas- $20 million budget and hand crews. Oklahoma? This is not a political statement. It is a statement of fact to help people understand what they are up against. Especially in rural areas. Must have goggles!!! Loss of vision and you are done! You can put anything over your mouth temporarily.

Gotta love living in the Midwest this time of year and this is just the start of it. We live with this weather each and every year. When you’ve dealt with it your entire life you become numb to it all. We have dealt with forecasts that are so far off so many times we no longer trust them. We trust our own eyes and seeing what the clouds are doing. Thats why you see all these videos of people from the Midwest going outside when the sirens start blaring. Rule of thumb that anyone from the Midwest will tell you. If the sky turns green it’s time to head indoors.

When I got to work the next morning all the cars that weren’t rented out had bad damage. One of the supervisor’s car had to be brought in on the back of a wrecker, it’s was totaled. I actually opened up the storm cellar door yesterday and let it air out, and went down today to make sure there weren't any creepy crawlies or slithering visitors. I swept the floor, and sprayed bug repellent. It wasn't until last year, after living in my home for 16+ years, that I finally got brave and checked out my storm cellar. I had refused to use it before due to varies yucky stuff. The bathtub always looked more inviting when bad storms barreled thru. I have since cleaned it up, and made it livable. Even got an electrical cord running down to have power as long as it lasts. (Oh, and a wifi extender just above one of the air pipes so I can watch Ryan, until it goes out too.) You, Ryan are a God sent. You have been spot on with the weather down here in Oklahoma, and I recommend you to everyone I know. Please keep up the great work! Hugs from me and my dogs.

They slowly moved SE, away from me into Missouri as the larger cluster of storms near KC moved NE into Missouri. Aside from the obvious difference in number of storms, the two clusters looked very similar (at least on radar and how they moved away from the center of Kansas) I drove out of town to a nice clear hilltop to watch the very impressive lightning show. Very picturesque. If I had even halfway decent photography equipment I could've captured hundreds of breathtaking bolts they were so clear.
