Is it bad for qbs to lift their back foot off the ground when throwing deep? I feel like it helps me get more distance and power on my ball but I’ve heard it’s bad

It’s natural to have it come off a little bit but nothing crazy like your trying to kick someone haha, if it’s like that that’s a pick all day for a safety. I’m no expert or anything but from my experience that’s what I’ve learned

So bringing it up a little is not bad, but when you kick it up like a pitcher usually it’s a problem with hip rotation. I would just make sure your base is not too wide and you’re not over striding. That’s usually what leads to the back leg swinging up. If you ca take a shorten stride and have your back leg loaded under your frame naturally you will get more hip rotation and don’t need a big leg kick. But like I said the little leg kick is not bad
