Very nice job~!! The Purple Heart & Ash look great together. I bought Jay's templates last year and am finally getting around to making a set of these for our deck. Torn between making them from Oak, Cherry, or Walnut, so I may be doing one of each. I like the addition of the arms. May have to add that feature to mine. Thanks for sharing the video~!

Thanks for your kind words! Cherry and walnut are beautiful woods but not as sturdy when left outdoors. White oak is an excellent choice if they’ll be left out in the weather. I’m planning to make some rocking Adirondacks out of white oak.

Thanks! The Purple Heart with arms weighs 22 lbs, Mahogany without arms 16.5 lbs, and Cedar without arms weighs 13.1 lbs.

You could build a cart that you can load the chairs on and pull them vs having to carry them. You could make the cart as eye catching as the chairs... and if you could find a way to make the cart double as a table/ottoman when you're using the chairs. So many ideas....

Cool idea! Thanks for that!

So why is everyone using the 1/4" round over? I had to use the 1/2" round over to make it fit the legs. Plus on Jays video and KM Tools video They hold the bit up to the 1/2" shaft of a router bit not a 1/4". I had to work up from 1/4" round over to the 1/2" round over so I am pretty sure this is a typo on the plans.

You could be right about the typo. I can’t remember because it’s been awhile since I made these.
