I thought of a cool idea for the underwater drone. What if you were able to get underwater footage of a topwater blitz? It might be a bit of a challenge since blitz's move quick and you might have other fisherman trying to cast their lines in, but i thought it's an interesting idea nonetheless.

Here’s my two cents: the reason there’s no albies around and no stripers is because the water isn’t cooling down enough for them to be around. Although it’s already fall it’s really still summer as far as the fish are concerned. We’re still having daytime temperatures in the 70s. The striped bass won’t start migrating until the water goes down several more degrees. The other possibility is that they’re much further offshore and have started their migration in much deeper water, avoiding the shallow waters. As for the albies, they’re probably already gone for the year and because they left sooner than usual everyone missed it.

That blue fish was much larger than the ones we catch of the Texas Gulf Coast! Some of my family like them but I prefer very mild white meat fish! I love deep dropping for tiles, groupers, etc!

We get some giant bluefish up here in the northeast. I recently went to Georgia to visit my cousin and while fishing there he got a 5 pound blue and he said that it was big. I told him he needs to make a trip up to me where they get into the high teens and even 20’s pounds

Great video, do you find the 3 way bucktailing works well for stripers at night?
@bobwehner78813 ай бұрын
Do you need to "debug" your boat. I've noticed that as soon as you start to catch fish, other boats arrive in your area.
@Endeavorfishing3 ай бұрын
Never really know how to work light bucktails. do you cast them out drop em down and jig, sometimes cant feel the bottom not sure iam on it
@JohnSkinnerFishing3 ай бұрын
Knowing when you hit bottom is very important. Use light colored thin braided line (10#) and watch for the brief line float that occurs when the jig touches down. I show it clearly at some point in this video.

I noticed you didn't use a teaser on the yellow bucktail for sea bass. Obviously did great without it, but is it just not necessary for them?
@JohnSkinnerFishing3 ай бұрын
A teaser in this application would add too much drag and hurt the action on the jig.

If fishing is slow I'll keep a bluefish or two that are small. the small ones are less oily. The ones he caught in this video are way too large for me to eat.
