@@mrv8rick2 Hi. That’s true. One of the pleasures of editing these videos is I get to see G&B from a third party perspective. Regards JP

Nice video. Your bench was the inspiration for mine! It works well for me. Need to change the router table top as the weight of the lift and router (same combo as yours) has bowed the 18mm MDF. I think I'll use 18mm ply and torsion box the underside. Looking forward to seeing the shop progress. All the best.
@SmallbarnworkshopАй бұрын
Hi Paul. Yes, I am glad I doubled up the thickness of the top. When I worked for timber distribution we need some document shelving and we had a deep dive into whether chipboard or MDF would bow the least. Chipboard won hands down. We don't make much from raw chipboard 😳 I picked the stud work up for the barn on Thursday and I have a screwfix delivery coming Monday. So I am ready to make a start (once the bath is back in!) Regards JP

Looks like a great set up for a nice retirement planning, especially with all the space around and the fighter planes buzzing around once in a while. (At least it would be for me as the engines sounds are better than music in my book)

Yes. Hopefully it will be nice once finished. Regards JP

Hi JP - Once again a very interesting video giving plenty of food for thought. I have the same saw which is currently on the Evolution wheeled base but it takes up too much room so I am sorely tempted to construct something similar to your workstation. I thoroughly look forward to your workshop improvements in the new year.👍

Hi Roy, thank you. I had the issue with the Rage 5s. The stand was just too big for the workshop. That is why I used to roll it outside. Regards JP

Hi JP Like you I have a small work space, one of the things I've built to help is a version of 'Paoson's folding saw stand' which currently has a compact bench saw attached (used for roughing rip cuts) and my planer thicknesser. It's easily wheeled out of the shed, folded down and the saw is quickly removed to allow for thicknessing. I think it would be worth a look, and of course arranged to suit your own needs. 👍🏻
@SmallbarnworkshopАй бұрын
Thanks Ged. I will search for that video. Paoson's saw bench is a thing of beauty. Regards JP

Hi JP, Nice workshop update :D How about putting the thicknesser underneath the table saw or router? Or, if you put it on the wall like you said, make a hatch so that you can feed material out through the wall? Ofc, all that may not work. Just throwing out ideas here. Cheers and thanks for another interesting video.
@SmallbarnworkshopАй бұрын
Hi Nomad. Thanks for the comments. Sadly it won’t fit under the saw or router, I tried that a while ago. The flap would work, I remember my grandfathers shop having one. I do pass longer sawn material through the window. Regards JP

Thought you would have used levelling compound by now love the shop mines only 7’x 12’ no outside storage 🤨 ok for one but my grandson is with me weekends gets a bit crowded 😉
@SmallbarnworkshopАй бұрын
HI George. I need to complete the wall - at least the first board at ground level, or the compound will run through the wall into the garden. Regards JP

Hi, stop mocking about, build yourself a decent workshop. You've got plenty of land, if I had half as much land as you have I would have a massive, massive workshop, Jeff. Ps love your videos.
@SmallbarnworkshopАй бұрын
Sadly also a massive tax bill as the square arerà would attract property tax 😔 Regards JP
