Unlikely to happen, speed running is still a niche thing, a lot of games that give speed running the time of day only do so with extra modes and stuff. @@ytrewqfdsacxz3181 yes, to add a bit more to the story, he was already struggling with mental health stuff and, when getting into some drama with a streamer/gamer named Viper, Apollo quit KZbin citing harassment, bullying, and other drama related stuff... Apollo essentially made a video accusing Viper of not paying one of his editors, and Viper returned with, “I don’t pay them if their work is bad and not up to standards, etc.” Apollo finally gave up, Viper had turned a lot of people against him, and frankly, Apollo’s lack of “engagement” in the situation and accusations made at the start (which ended up being an incomplete story) along with his own shortcomings, caused just this... massive tidal wave of shit from the toxic af speed running community. Apollo said he couldn’t handle it anymore, wrote a suicide letter citing harassment and bullying making his decision easier, and police found Apollo dead in his home after a welfare check. Viper continues to spout he did nothing wrong and refuses to acknowledge that he had influence in someone killing themselves. A lot of people blame him completely, though, which isn’t fair because Apollo already was looking into behavioral health options and to get help for his suicidal ideation... Shits a mess, dude. Cheater cries and start being defensive. -Time is removed, everyone is happy until another guy out of nowhere submits another WR, and for some reason whoever is managing the leaderboard thinks it's perfectly legit. -Apollo Legend makes a video about it and everyone is like "Whaaaaat CONnor ace ? On his twitter are posts about how those who believe this video should be blocked. Later on, he posts a run, unspliced, verified by taskinoz. It beat roninpawn’s PB. His fans are not saying, GDQ would have accepted him anyways because he is the faster runner. The problem is, at the time when submitted, he was not. The video uploaded was on 10/13/19. So both his fans and himself are using the arguement that he would’ve gotten in even without cheating, but he could only prove that after the scandal happened, and after he got accepted. Now he’s tweeting posts that almost make it seem like he’s making fun of the fact that ronin’s financial situation. “can you believe there are children starving in Africa that could have eaten if they had done a gdq run? How else would they pay for their meals???” “do you think anyone honestly thinks the man who drank a bottle of syrup for $20 is rolling in the dough for a gdq run?” But the fact still stands. Even if he may have not become incredibly rich, or blew up, or anything like that, you can’t deny the fact that getting onto gdq has improved his views. And the fact that he has the audacity to make a joke out all of this proves just how juvenile he is. Look at the tone of all his tweets. They are condescending, rude, and they don’t leave any room for debate or discussion. Not even civil talk about the situation. Either him or his zealots of fans will come in to defend connor with their lives, stating that it doesn’t matter, he would still be the fastest runner, that the fact that he CHEATED on a submission wouldn’t have mattered because he beat ronin’s PB a month or two later, and all that. No matter what actually happened, no matter who’s the faster runner, a man with the mindset and attitude like that didn’t deserve a spot on gdq.

Cam and Spiderweb both you sound like you have no idea what you're talking about. If this guy does well at a speedrunning event, with thousands of people watching him, and he does something cool, they'll most certainly check his content. There is something called risk versus reward, and that seems to be going into play here. If he garners any attention, and if he's been putting money into savings since the start of the year he could have already built up the money for a plane ticket. You're assuming he didn't account for that. Cam the whole "Relying on streaming" thing makes you sound like an outdated politician. People have been doing this for the past decade and with enough viewers theres a lot of benefits to this than going out and doing manual labour. On top of that, there's not much of a difference between this and something like Basketball on TV or alike, so unless you're also against people making money from sports than that is some outdated views.
