My daughter actually thought I had eyes on the back of my head until she was about 8 years old. And that I could hear and see what she was doing upstairs. She never understood how I knew when she was u to something 😂 She’s almost 24 now, and still claims I must be a little bit psychic 😅

I'm not sure what the cost of the class is but it sure looks like the food Meg has prepared for everyone is abundant and gourmet! Ben I can feel your excitement for the approaching hand hewn class! Meg you are the mirror of my Grandmother, back in the day when a big event of some sort was planned she was the one to make sure everyone got fed…and I mean fed well! She made lists like you and started days before so that she could assure everything was as good as possible and so she could participate in the festivities. The only difference ….she did all this on a wood cook stove! So she also had to chop kindling n wood and feed that fire and work over the heat of it all. The taste of everything she made was literally like taking a bite of Heaven! Needless to say I’m envious of all those good folk who get a seat at your table this weekend! I’m sure your class is gonna be awesome and I pray the whole family has the best time ever! I love you guys! Blessings from your biggest fan🙏❤️❤️🙏🥂

To make any water heating more efficient try and find some way to cover the container Ideally a round piece of styrofoam board floating on the top. Any kind of loose lid will decrease your heating time.

I admire you two so much. Your planning skills and level of energy are beyond belief!. The fact that you both think of so many things to do to make your jobs go smoothly is laudable. AND that you still kept your kids on the front burner the whole time by having them help, teaching them each process and YES even karate night!!.... is more than I would have imagined possible. God bless you and thank you so much for being good parents, good stewards of what God has given you and for sharing it all with us!!

Hi Meg. When you said you were running out of frig space, I remember something I take for granted and sort of 'forgotten'. I have a mud room, not heated, and it gets cold enough to use as a frig. It comes in especially handy during the winter holidays when I have lots of family visiting. So, if you have an old shed or whatever, you can put a lidded tote full of food in there and it will keep your food as cold as an overstuffed frig would. I'm in PA but I know NC is getting a lot of cold weather this winter and maybe this can help you. Of course, the mudroom is an option only if the weather permits but it does come in handy. You're a smart lady and you'll figure it out. Hoping this weekend's event is a total success.

Hello Meg, it scares me when Buggy gets close to the stove when you are cooking food, especially on the front of the stove. I was taught by my Mom and Grandma not to use the front burners unless you have to. Also have you made it a rule or a no no for Buggy to be near the stove? I would hate to se such a beautiful baby get burned. When I was a baby my Mom had a pot bellied stove that turned glowing red when hot and I was determined to touch it, and I did. It left a little scar on one of my fingers.❤❤❤❤

In my exprerience, wrapping the tank with insulation and covering it would make a massive difference to the performance of the heating element. The bottom is still exposed, being up on the stand, which isn't ideal, but even so, I think you're losing a tremendous amount of heat through the walls and especially the top of the tank.
