Yep I feel so bad for female creators because they are trapped. I remember Sweet Anita sharing her story about how this stalker was caught on his way to her house with a knife in his pocket and the police just let him go. He has also sent her pictures of him outside his mother's house, these people are sick and the police enables this behavior. Janet aka Xchocobars has also shared this sentiment of being trapped in a tweet a few years ago that said "I often think about how I will prob die by the hands of my stalker and no one can do anything about it until it really happens 😞 I know it’s heavy to talk about but if it does happen I hope my death will mean something and help protect other creators from similar situations."

I think that many people suffer from stalkers because they don't know the law. I imagine often even the police don't know them. That is, the laws are there but unused. For example, in my state, if you tell a person to leave you alone they get one "free" contact, and after that, if your mind is unchanged, any further personal contact (or phone calls, etc.) establishes a pattern and it's stalking. It starts as a misdemeanor, but there are many things (like threats) that will boost it to a felony ("aggravated stalking"). So two phone calls + one aggregating element and the stalker can be heavily fined and put away for years. It doesn't have to reach the psycho stage. Also, disgusting phone calls or texts are illegal, and each one is a misdemeanor. This is called "malicious use of a telecommunications device." But people don't know this... so they suffer and lose sleep and try other ways to stop the sicko when they actually possess a legal hammer early on. I guess what I'd advise is if you are stalked: find out what are the real laws in your state. Don't take the word of an average Joe unless they've read the actual statutes, which of course they have not. Read the laws yourself, talk to a lawyer, or contact your district attorney. Your district attorney is the one who decides whether to prosecute or not and they know everything.

That's why I said people should seek out wise legal experts instead of relying on the hazy legal understandings of themselves, friends, or even cops. But the laws themselves are often simple in concept and application once understood. And in many cases violations are easy to prove when they are phone-to-phone contacts or messages that are electronically preserved by multiple entities or devices, or irrefutably captured on video. And my main point is that the law is an underutilized protection tool. I mean, having a creep arrested and sent to jail for a month sends a serious message about your willingness to defend yourself that outranks begging them to stop. It sends the message that you have powerful friends and that society stands by your side. It's a way to say, "You're best off finding another victim, because I'm not easy prey." Having them arrested also puts into the official record-books what's been going on. It sets them up for more serious charges if they keep the harassment up, or if they ever harass others, and it'll help you out legally if you're ever forced to physically defend yourself. It's worth noting that there are also several ways to civilly sue stalkers and harassers. And the burden of proof to win against a creep then is even lower than in the criminal courts. No doubt this tool is also very underutilized. Creeps are evil, selfish, and get off on inflicting pain and causing fear. It's a power trip that feeds their sick ego. It's irritating to me when innocent people are intimidated or overwhelmed by such people, when they could take far stronger stands and make the monsters fear for once.

It’s hard to tell if law enforcement is on your side or not because their so limited in what they can do and stalkers can be so calculating and slick in their actions that they get away with shizzle that their so clearly guilty of. This is exactly why it’s so hard for victims to speak up. It’s a double-edged sword. If you don’t speak up and spread awareness, it stays hidden, but if you DO speak up and nothing is done about it, as in MANY situations, it only serves to put you in more danger. Extreme danger. Something really needs to change to keep from allowing dangerous people to get off on technicalities and loopholes. I get that they’re designed to protect innocent people from being charged with crimes, but they also serve to protect those who manipulate them to get away with things. Had 2 gf's, a few decades ago now, I'm 55, that had stalkers. Confronted both. One was in a car parked outside, said, who is that? My stalker. Uh? Walked out, he drove away and that did it. At least for the few years I knew her. Another gf a few years later, a guy was creeping in the hedges, couldn't believe it. Same thing, that's my stalker. This one I was able to talk to. Had a mature(ish) chat with him. Went back and forth a bit, fortunately he wasn't completely insane and he stopped stalking her. Absolutely hate stalkers. Ask any women if she's afraid going to her parked car, at night but even in daytime, and they are. That is NO way to live and it's because of these morons and lowlife fellows. It's a pretty shocking conversation to have actually, how scared they can be when alone out in public. As a guy, we rarely feel this. Guys, do that, ask some girls you know if they ever get scared just being out. Or heck, even in their homes. It's eye opening

Completely horrible this is happening to her! I can’t imagine how scary that would be. I like how you are straight to the point and clearly lay out the timeline, it’s just the facts backed with digital evidence. You give your own opinion and take but not in a way that detracts or invalidates the situation. My only feedback is to consider using person first language. For example instead of saying substance abuser, “person who uses substances”. It usually just carries less stigma and is more humanising.

From what I’ve heard, it can be dangerous to refer to a stalker as so and so’s stalker. They may start to form an identity around being a celebrity’s/KZbinr’s/whoever’s stalker. Which motivates them to be worse. It creates a connection between them and the victim the exact way the perpetrator is hoping for. It’s safer to stick to “the stalker” or “this person”

It's sickening that someone would take something so beneficially life-altering and sweet and turn it into something ugly and sinister. ASMR has greatly improved my mental health, especially the live videos which help to dispel my panic attacks, and they actually help with my insomnia. They put me to sleep when nothing else does, not even Melatonin. I've been watching KarunaSatoriASMR for a while now, and I've been so worried about her since this whole thing started. Thank you, Jojo, for spreading awareness of this situation. May God protect and preserve her and her family during this dark, scary time. 🙏

The stalking in this case would have happened without her having this KZbin channel too. But I hope she gets this resolved and can get rid of this guy.

On another note, the law is fucking twisted and this is not the first or last case of a young woman being stalked/ harassed and then told there's nothing to be done 'until a crime is committed'. Its a very tell-tale sign that the people who pass these laws are extremely out of touch with real life. As far as i'm concerned anyone who upholds these laws without trying to do smth. to change them is 100% part of the problem. Its a shame that this poor lady is having to ask other creators/friends to raise awareness because the law won't allow police to do anything about a man who is endangering her + her family's life. It truly sucks to live in a wolrd where we wait for lives to be lost before we take action instead of protecting lives before they're lost.

I feel for her. Being stalked is not fun at all and if you can’t get help from police who are meant to help protect you then I say take up arms, stand and fight and do what you have to to batten down the hatches. ie get a big dog like a rottweiler or even a terrier who are known for their protective and loyal instincts. What about personally suing him too? Seek advice from a security company. Celebrities have to call on them from time to time. It’s reprehensible that she is forced to work out what to do but stalkers essentially are bullies and you have to stand up to them. Use the law, use whatever means to do so I say. It is really awesome that Jojo and others are helping by calling the stalker out. I really admire her courage and really pray for her safety.
