Missed Nightmell the Dark Bonder, who pretty clearly incorporates both of Risebell's summons. But I think it also incorporates Risebell himself. In addition to the stance indicating some degree of anthropomorphism, there are ley details like the drooping hair near Nightmell's heads closely resembling Risebell's hair including the green bead. The fact that Nightmell's main head looks just like the beast head corrupted Risebell is wearing(seen clearly in Psycher's art) as well as the green eye on Nightmell's left leg which is exactly like the green eye seen on Risebell in Unending Nightmare, where he is actually being encased by the dark material that had formed his new outfit. Only his head and chest are exposed. And of you look closely at his head, you can see that the teeth and inner flesh of the beast head has developed stringy connections to Risebell.

There's another card that plays into this story that he showed in the video but didn't mention. That being Trancefamiliar. The black cat looking monster that we know is not the same cat as the one we see following Hypnosister around. The theory on it is that it is the physical form of Hypnosister's powers. As its art is the reverse of hers. In her art we see dozens of dark hands reaching out from behind her, grabbing at everything. Where as in Trance's art it is now front and center, Hypnosister is behind it looking almost like a doll, and all the dark hands have lost their power, becoming yellow and febble. Also it share's a lot of design cues that are on psycher, but not on adjuster; like the blue aura coming out of Psychers dolls, and the spikes and bells know on Psycher's dogs. So with that in mind here's my thoughts on what happened in the story. Hypnosister's first attempt was successful (Wavering Eyes) at which point her, and her new brother (Star Adjuster) went about "having fun". Saam wanting to save her brother followed and tried her best to save him even using some of the summonings he taught her. It starts to work (Unwavering Bond) however in the struggle the source of Hypnosister's power, her crystal medium, breaks and the power within manifest as Trancefamiliar. Believing she was in control of it she told it to help him. However instead of doing like she wanted in merged with Rise, transforming him from Star Adjuster into Star Psycher. After transforming it caused some immediate destruction then escaped. Since then Saam has been training endlessly hoping that next time they meet she might be able to save her brother (Saambell Star Bonder). However things only got worse as neither Rise nor Hypnosister could actually control Familiar's power it refused to separate from Rise and ended up destroying his mind, to Hypnosister's dismay (Unending Nightmare). With his mind gone it fully took over Rise's body and merged with his summonings; becoming Nightmell the Dark Binder. The same dark hands that were once seen behind Hypnosister now seen reaching out of Nightmell's body. Hoping to absorb (bond) with more things and grow in power.

@@Kingmegadon Trancefamiliar can be seen on the art of Risebell the Summoner, watching Rise and Saam from in front of a bush that Hypnosister is hiding in. It is also seen looking upset in the bottom right corner of the art of Unending Nightmare.

This is completely my fault - missed the card when doing research somehow. This adds some more unique facets to the lore - is Nightmell a unique summon of Risebell? A fusion of his existing summons? Or maybe Risebell himself?

@@pk_tuneworld A couple more things. Nightmell has the same attribute, stats, type, and level as Risebell the Star Psycher. There are several examples in other YGO storyline that show the importance of such traits in identifying characters in different forms. This also means that Psycher is the ONLY target for Nightmell's effect if used on itself. And vice versa. The green eye(s) can also be seen on Star Adjuster and Star Psycher's knees, not just in Unending Nightmare. The bells on Nightmell's tail also come from Risebell's outfit Nightmare+Risebell=Nightmell? Something to factor in.

I did unfortunately. Which tilts me cause now this video doesn't cover the whole lore SMH I can't tell if Nightmell is like some intermediate form for Risebell or if its his final form. I might lean into the latter to make the lore more tragic - imagine being turned into a dog for eternity. Actual pain.

I would love that it takes a turn that Hypnosister tries to break bond to free Risebell (A magic card), but she's too late and failed (Trap card), then more past/corrupted/different state/fusion version of Rosebell, Hypnosister, Saambell. Hypnosister ask Saambell's help to recover Rosebell (More support Magic card/ Trap card.) etc. And with that, you got yourself a deck.

Very interesting. Unfortunately it is extremely difficult to build a deck around these cards since I can't see how one could make a wincon out of raising levels.

The wincon will probably come in the form of either: A. A redeemed risebell monster that acts as a boss, with something to do with levels. B. A fully corrupted risebell that killed his sister to act as a boss. C. A saambell card that was either successful or unsuccessful in saving her brother, who is now stronger and also, again, has something to do with levels.

maybe a condition like "reduce the level of this card by 2, and if you do destroy/banish a card on the field" with it being not once per turn and the goal being increase its level. Doesnt necessarily have to be a pop but my idea is the level can tie into how much times you can use a non opt effect. also a boss monster synchro thats high level requiring you to level up to get to him as well is nice idea

Yeah, I appreciate how Konami does storytelling like this. It really makes you have to analyze the card art + come up with your own theories rather than being spoon-fed everything. The Branded Lore is also interesting for this reason - so is the WC and DT (the latter did admittedly get a lore book eventually).

I always felt that this story would be sick as an entire archetype. It has a cool theme i could easily see it being one. You could do so much with the increasing levels for Synchros and Xyzs. I could see Hypnosister getting a cool redemption arc.

Do you think you could talk about fiendsmith? With the addition of scarlet sorrow it seems there to be a bit more story that just "funny demon makes other demons weapons" since she is the figure in the fire of fiendsmith lacrima, and the trap card hints at a future lvl 7 monster coming so it might be interesting

In Unending Nightmare, it kind of looks like Hypnosister is giving Risebell the amulet that is doing (at least half of) the purifying in Unwavering Bond. She looks fairly distraught, so imo it's safe to assume she also plays a role in purifying him, despite being the one to do so in the first place. It kind of falls in line with the theory that Hypnosister was jealous of Saambell and Risebell's sibling bond, because she would take Risebell for her own only to realize he isn't even acting very brotherly on account of having the worst day of his life. Though the crying and the slightly corrupted form imply that Hypnosister is also doing this at the point where Risebell is becoming so corrupted that he's turning into Nightmell. tl;dr hypnosister is trying her best

If the opposite, we get a bad ending. I'm leaning towards the bad ending, but we don't appear to have confirmation on what actually happens. So, I'm considering both sides.

You got me - as a few other ppl pointed out in the comments, I COMPLETELY forgot that Nightmell existed when writing this. The existence of Nightmell makes the lore potentially more tragic if you consider Risebell to have been transformed into the animal in the card's art. Alternatively, we could just hope the creature so happens to resemble Risebell by coincidence.

Honestly my thoughts on the EXTENSIVE Dogmatika/Albaz cards and lore; is that a bunch of new artists and writers showed at konami wanting to make an anime. Konami being konami said they have to start from the ground up and repurposed their art and story into 2nd largest yugioh card lore so far. Rivaled only by the original Duel Terminal. Because even now it's still not done. It's on hiatus while they work on Diabellstar and revamp older lore.
