"Check THIS out" As a competitive long time yugioh player my hatred of the tcg had been this way for longer than i remember not just for the art and text but also the rulings. Let us never forget how 'if' cards can miss timing only in the tcg and the tragedy of how pendulum sorcerors first tournament in the US forced the entire tournament to relearn a card for the event because of 'interpretation'.

I feel like Duel Terminal 3 would have flowed a lot better if the Qliphort were cut. The Infernoids ultimately superseded and destroyed the Shaddoll anyway so the Qliphort’s inclusion feels totally redundant. That aside, what do you think the new Gem-Knight cards are meant to represent? I’ve seen some people saying it’s part of the epilogue but I’m pretty sure they aren’t. Since Zefra Providence shows Crystal and Lapis passing on to the afterlife it wouldn’t make sense for them to come back as half Shaddoll. My guess is that Hallowcore is Crystal’s standalone form after being revived by the Tellarknights but before becoming Zefracora. Nepyrim is harder to force into continuity since we see Construct’s full life from incubation to destruction. My best guess is that Nepyrim is Lapis’s Evilswarm zombie being powered up after Sombre was created since she has Sombre’s stat line and a similar effect. It’s not perfect but it’s the best I can come up with that isn’t “Somehow Consruct returned.”

What kind of weird AI upscaling did you use to make the art on some of these cards look so weird and melted? I'd rather just have less close-up shots if it meant you could stop doing this, because the details you want to bring out are erased by the upscaling anyway.

No yeah, as the pinned comment convo details, I initially thought they all died since the Master Guide said Zefraath disappeared after fighting Tierra. But I’m dumb and overlooked the fact Wendi/ Pilica are in Return’s art AND Reirautari’s art + Great Sorcerer is seen in Providence.

There’s plenty more! What everyone should note is that I tell these select stories with emphasis on a specific archetype rather than trying to talk about every single event in any chapter of DT3. For example, I kinda gloss over details regarding the Tellarknights, the Zefra, and the Nekroz in favor of the Noids/Shaddolls (and, even then, omitted certain details like the existence of Nehshaddoll Genius). Also, yes, eyeing the WC lore for the future.

Maybe, maybe not. The Shaddoll Structure Deck and some of the random new Shaddolls (Helshaddoll and Nehshaddoll Genius) already filled in some holes in the story. Though, I would happily welcome more cards for such a cool fusion archetype.

I do enjoy the duel terminal lore, it’s fascinating and there’s a surprising amount of character in the cards. I enjoyed this video, it flowed really well and kept a good pace. Enjoyed the cinematic side of having unrelated cards that represented points quite well too! If I did have a recommendation, a little more explanation of certain events would be appreciated. For example you listed off all the Zefra, but it would be good to link them to their origin cards as it’s difficult to track most of them

Your recommendation is very much noted for my next lore video. As I'm starting to realize, these videos, given the majority of the time spent is just panning over card art (and thus don't require as much editing as some of my other work), could easily be longer. I could've included more details behind the Zefra, or talk more about the Tellars and the newer Shaddoll cards. A lot of people in the comments section were pushing me to do WC lore - whenever I do tackle that, I'll try to go more in-depth.

This is why Winda will always be one of my favorite Yugioh characters. Her story arc is incredible, spanning several years and multiple decks/tribes. Starting out as the sister of Wynn the Wind Charmer, becoming a humble priestess for the Gusto Tribe, communing with the Goddess Sophia herself, reviving as a Shaddoll monster, and eventually redeemed back to life after the war and joining the Ritual Beast Tamers. Best girl right here.

Duel Terminal at times feels cruel and vengeful. The folks there just aren't allowed to have a break. The planet will break at this point because it hasn't had time to rest.

Ay, tragedy sells. Supposedly, DT finally has time to rest after Tierra's defeat (minus Evil, which seems more like a minor threat). Unless Konami decides to milk the franchise more and release DT4 (which seems unlikely since they've made plenty of great stories in the meantime - Snake-Eyes lore, WC lore, Branded lore, etc).

@pk_tuneworld I would argue that happy endings and millennium long time skips between each apocalypse sells more if going by the prevalence of standard storytelling. The structure and system that maintained and supported that world no longer works, the deities whose presence helped drove it are gone, and the planet has been wiped by three to four cataclysms in the timespan of less than a century. I wouldn't be surprised if the world ends up dead for a really long time because it can no longer support itself after everything collapsed multiple times.

@pk_tuneworld Personally I think happy endings and grand adventures sell better, but that's just me. I wouldn't be too surprised if we find out that the planet ended up dying due to the devastations it suffered in three generations and members of an alien civilization has to go on a journey to heal the scars and resurrect the planet.

Yeah, I make weird editing choices at times. I knew those cards were a thing but chose to omit them since I was so focused on getting the Master Guide 5 info correct. Both Schism and Incarnation should be during DT3 though as opposed to sequels. The shadow in Schism is the same shadow you see in Qliphort Genius and in Nehshaddoll Genius. It is supposedly the source of the Shaddoll that eventually gets purified by Sombre (as seen in Schism). Incarnation meanwhile showcases Keios, the Shaddoll-corrupted form of Kerykeion, seemingly being tempted by Genius. Since Keios/Kerykeion eventually becomes Zefranaga, I think Incarnation showcases Kerykeion’s initial descent into madness before later being redeemed.

Can't say I'm perfect - the three DT videos I've made so far have some small mistakes (e.g., this video I mistakenly said the Zefra warriors disappeared when some of them are still very much alive). But, yeah, thanks for watching :D
