To everyone wondering Chicago is not just a big city it is a metropolis. West Loop is just one of many many fun neighborhoods on the West and North Sides. All that stuff you hear in the news is not where most of us live. It’s like comparing Harlem to Brooklyn or Compton to Silver Lake. Very different places.

More special vs average always cost more..... not every store has a walmart/cosco price... though small business with higher cost must charge more and big cities generally are more.... go to a not-just-your-common neighborhood pub.... you will pay more. Many here you see are professionals also who make $$$. not all.... some live elsewhere and want to enjoy sometimes those other areas too and a few visitors/tourist. If you want cheap.... you stick to a common neighborhood corner bar and restaurant as plenty of good areas of Chicago and yes much cheaper vs going out in a area right by downtown which is the West Loop. Great new neighborhood that was once a warehousing district and meat-packing district...... now it is residential and no... not cheap to live in.

@@artbyrobot1 Apparently, humans have been lusting for generations. Going out to public places, gatherings, bars, clubs, Church gatherings in cities forever. This is just more of the same currently. Mostly young people but for the restaurants also as they are the ones seeking partners most yet. Lust is a human condition. We restrict how strong our harmons especially when young steer it.... some restrict themselves less. All is not Sodom and Gomorrah either. True this is not going to a Church gathering and not exactly going to a local diner for a ice cream soda..... still it is a right-of-passage for many of taking date out, going with friends and seeking new ones including those who could be a perspective partner in life and yes for some.... a one-nighter in lust. Thinking it is only big cities and in those not on the right side of things etc. Does not change the fact that secular life has had this for generations. Lots of examples of those who did such things, bad-boy things... no as me retired... looking back and admit it.... though looking down on those now who do... kind of using the wrong music, wrong color types and labels.... still they remember how when they were young... their rebel ways was also labeled and a reality check is called for.

Chicago remade itself past 20+ yrs adding attractions and of course... a growing downtown region with professionals that really was booming pre-Coovid. Slowly continuing, but the north and real winter cities, cities labeled and higher taxed from decades of equity built and pensions being paid and infrastructure rebuilt like expressways etc. Same thing happens to older built-out suburbs. @@saeedjohnson7325do you call Lincoln Park, mag mile or affluent river north the hood. Watch the news and see where the Jackings, armed robberies and smash and grabs. No longer in Roseland or West Garfield Park

Lonely is far more staying home in the AC and not dating or searching for one or with friends to go out with.... few here are that lonely type....at least not this night. LOL. Generally, some hate our cities by our toxic political demonized them as all just nothing but bad. Clearly, not the case as Chicago has a vibrant core and such legacy of this nation that still exist..... its hoods is nothing new and been there for decades that we created by choices that this post would be long to go into.... A picture/video says 1000 words and there are plenty who thrive in our cities still, work, go out, date have disposable money to dine out in better places etc. The Gemini (creator of almost daily Chicago videos) has plenty that show still a vibrant area..... most thru the core in his videos and other areas too. Rest assured our cities are not all what some media likes to claim... Toxic politics is our worse trait today that is making hate and blame a national pastime sadly....
