Brave man to make a video about his shrinkage. My sub soil is red and I can't tell any distinct difference between sand, silt, or clay after a jar test.

If there's a higher content of clay, could more sand just be added to fix that and keep the shrinkage to a minimum?

I guess i couldn't do cob. I have an average of about 5-10 inches of black topsoil and then pure clay down to who knows how deep.

You can also purchase subsoil from landscape supply stores or soil depots.
