Great Hack Ideas Amanda! 👏👏👏😃😃 The ideas about using baking soda In your drainage I've always heard plumbers say to never put baking soda in your drain because it can burst your pipes I'm not sure but that's what I heard. I've been using a mop to clean my walls for years a swiffer mop with a rag attached to it Because those refills are expensive you're right about that! I did it because I'm disabled and I can't stand for long periods of time So it really helps.

@ThisCrazyLife, first let me say that I love your channel. I was watching your cleaning hack video and thought I would share some info concerning hack #9. My husband is a professional plumber. He advises his customers to never put baking soda in the drains. It can harden up like cement, causing damage and can lead to worse clogging that can only be remedied by replacing the pipes. He says never pour any “drain cleaners” like Liquid Plumber down the drain either. It may unclog the pipe, but it is also eating and corroding the pipe, which can weaken the integrity or damage it beyond repair, which means expensive pipe replacements. The best way to unclog a drain is to plunge or use a snake; if that doesn’t work, call a professional. Also, his tip to freshen and clean your garbage disposal is to use a few lemon slices and ice cubes and turn on the water and run the disposal for a bit until it sounds clear. I hope this is helpful to you and everybody who reads this. 😊

I just binge watched/cleaned for eight videos. I had to scroll back to old videos. LOL! I completely undecorated, cleaned, swept, mopped, went through the pantry and threw out everything expired then I re-decorated for Valentine’s Day! I loved this video! My favorite hack was the dishwasher tablet and sponge to clean your shower floor! One hack you didn’t have that I just found (through americas test kitchen) was cutting a dishwashing tab in half, adding it to your coffee carafe with hot tap water, letting it sit overnight and then rinsing it out in the morning! It gets EVERYTHING off!!! We did it to our coffee carafe and my husbands coffee thermos and both look brand new on the inside!!

Thank you for the hacks today. I have used several of them already. It definitely saves on cleaning supplies and time. Sometimes less is more. Amanda as I told you last time we did get a little snow here in Georgia last week. It wasn't to bad but my cat litter came in handy on the front deck and steps. That's a hack I learned a long time ago. When you have wet frozen ice on steps to help prevent falls sprinkle cat litter on it and it will make you feel a little more secure. That's my hack to share. Have a great week and till next time.❤

I like some of the hacks. No joke though, I struggled many years getting my husbands tub clean. We unfortunately have fiberglass. I could never get all the scum out. No matter what I bought. It was stubborn, stubborn skum on the bottom. Finally I seen a video on KZbin this man who had one worse. I sprinkled baking soda all over the tub. Then put paper towels over the baking soda. Then poured straight vinegar on the paper towels. Let it set for 15 to 20 mins. Went back and ALL the scum came up. I did use a scrub brush, but it all came up. I use that combination all the time. Fiberglass is hard to clean where it feels smooth. This does it💙
@ThisCrazyLifeКүн бұрын
Omgsh so neat! I want to try that now in our shower! Thanks so much for sharing!!!

Use dawn too. For the upper part I put the baking soda all over a rag and then get really wet with vinegar and then start washing sides. Once it feels smooth I know the scum is gone. It’s truly amazing😎

Another cool hack that blows me away is getting wax and glue out of carpet. You get an iron as hot is you can get it , put some paper towels over the glue or wax on the carpet, then set the iron on the paper towel. Set it for just a few mins moving around, lift it up and the wax or glue will. One up. Keep repeating till it’s all up. It will not mess up your iron either. I had a craft room with all kinds of hot glue on the carpet. Got it up. I have a wax removing machine. I did my own waxing. It tipped over and all came out on the carpet. I used pieces of card board over it, heated it up kept repeating it till it was gone. It works unless glue is old.

To unclog drains/ keep gnats away I use a version of the baking soda and boiling water. You do baking soda, a squeeze of dish soap, and use vinegar to cause the reaction. You let this sit while the drain is plugged for 5-10 minutes, then rinse with boiling water! This has worked great for us for maintenance and small clogs.

Love your hacks, Amanda. I enjoy all the videos you do and eagerly await your instalments each week. Quick sink-related question - I notice you no longer have the grate at the bottom of your sink; is there a reason you have done away with this?
@ThisCrazyLifeКүн бұрын
I just kind of go back and forth. I like that it keeps silverware from falling down the drain, but the sink bottom has ended up getting a bit scratched anyway, and so it’s just another step to cleaning the sink… I still have it, and might use it again, but just wanted to put it away for a while :)

Great hacks Amanda. I use the Jojoba Oil for my hair. I stay away from anything alcohol based or harsh chemicals for my naturally curly hair. The oil is amazing to give that soft shine after a good blowout and equally as good to give me beachy waves like you when my hair is a bit dirty (no judgment). Also, love the no skid pads to freshen your drawers. Genius. Please share more videos like this. One hack I have is to use dryer sheets to deodorize sneakers. I clean my sneakers often but in between I find storing my sneakers with a dryer sheet keeps it a bit fresh. Last hack is more of a cheat but I typically spray the inside of my toilet and shower with a little multipurpose cleaner with bleach to give my bathroom that freshly cleaned scent (great to do when unexpected company stops by.) Noone will know 😊👌🏽🏡
