My tip for you would be to get a glass spray bottle for oil, the store cooking spray contains propane gas and one other one. Just picked one up on sale. Every little change makes a big difference over time.

Your sourdough always looks so amazing! I’m fairly new to sourdough. I can get the artisan loaves, but any soft type breads or buns just always seem to turn out tough. I’ve tried buns and sandwich bread like 5 times and can’t seem to get it. Any tips? What could be the problem? You make it look so easy. I’ve tried your potato flake starter which was good for soft things, but kind of just wanted to babysit one starter and I see you don’t do the potato one anymore either.

I love baking everything from scratch for my family of 6, but for bread I use a bread machine! Put all my ingredients in at night on the sourdough setting and wake up to fresh bread. That’s my trick to save time! 😂

How much starter to you keep on hand? I am afraid of ha too much sitting around since my little ones are still young and don’t eat a lot. But I seem to run out of starter so quickly ! For reference, there are six in our family but the youngest isn’t on solids yet and my eldest is only four. How much starter seems reasonable for a family our size? We eat exclusively from scratch but I’ve only gotten into sourdough this past summer.
