The S4 was the best ever. Mine is still running, though I don't use it as my phone anymore, rather as device to test things. It has an IR blaster, it had USB-Host, it had a headphone jack, micro SD Slot, you could even put on additional antennas for better reception. Also Quad-core, 2GB of RAM and a 1080p OLED were great for the time. It was definitely better than the iPhones at the time.

I had an S4 in middle school everyone thought I was super rich and would take pictures with my phone on field trips! Made me a Samsung user until 2020.
@EragoEntertainment2 жыл бұрын
@@omarmandujano6772 Well I switched away from Samsung in 2018 when I replaced my S4, because at the time the flagship phones from the last year were suddenly so expensive. When I got my S2 in June 2012 it was 199€, the S4 in July 2014 was only 289€. In June 2018 the S8 was at around 500€. My S2 is still running and so is my first Smartphone the original ZTE Blade (120€ in 2010). But honestly all phones so far have been really keeping up well and offered all the features I needed at the time, they just can't keep up with newer apps and having low RAM really takes it's toll. The Blade made it through 4 years of daily use, 2 with me, 2 with my mother. The S2 made 6 years of daily use, 2 with me, 4 with my mother. The S4 made 5 1/2 years of use, 4 with me, 1 1/2 with my mother. The Honor 9 so far saw almost 4 years of use, 2 1/2 with me and 1 1/4 with my father. My Poco 3 NFC has now seen 1 1/4 years of use and is doing great, I am hoping to keep it for at least 2 more years. Since the S4 I only buy phones with IR blaster, since it's really useful in many ways.

A bad update on my S4 expedited my switch to apple. It was 2015, I had just started working at Apple and Samsung released an update that made my S4 no longer function as a phone. It basically became an android tablet. It was able to do everything EXCEPT make and receive calls. The audio just died when the phone app was used at all. But when I rolled back the update the phone worked perfectly, until the update forced itself on me again then back to a brick. I bought a used iPhone just to have a working phone. But up until that point it had been a great device. I decided I was finished with the Samsung brand altogether after the debacle with the note 7. My ex at the time had a galaxy s7 that spontaneously died and while the warranty was honored there was signs of charting inside the charging port where they told me the battery basically tried yo combust but it didn’t fully go up. Never again on the Samsung front for me. Too many quality issues across the brand, whether it be smartphones or appliances etc. Android or iOS im honestly neutral both have pros and cons.

I miss my motorola moto g, great size so you can easily use it one handed comfortably & fits in smaller pockets easily, camera was pretty good as well for the price. Only drawback was the lack of a micro sd slot & only having an 8 gb rom so you have little too no space really. had mine with sega genesis, gba, gbc emulators & a bunch of music stored locally. Had it die from the dead battery bug where if you had updated the phone if the battery ran out it just corrupted itself & i had it for roughly 2 years. Almost bought the Moto G LTE used just too have as a backup phone. still got it in a box here, got too try reviving it by flashing the corrupted rom, last time i tried it kept failing on every single thing despite being on 100% charge.

The LG Wing was a great phone. The fact you had a full screen without a section of screen being cut out for the front camera was great. The way you can hold and record with it was neat, but the big flaw was not being able to record in 4k in the flipout form. the pop out front camera was a little noisy but worth having that full screen. Accessories were a problem like cases. No one could make a case for it that actually worked. If they integrated the Magnetic backing like apple did then it would have been possible and the features of having it flipped out would have added more positive features. LG has always had a hard time implementing features they created. They have great ideas but poor execution because they don't take the time to fine tune them and hopped the user would figure out the pros of them. RIP LG phones.

The Fire phone was actually a great deal once Amazon offloaded their stock onto ebay sellers and you could get one new for about $150. I used the amazon fire phone for about 4 years, it was a really good phone with linage os installed on it. The phone hardware was actually pretty decent for the time, what made the phone function so slow was amazon's horrendous 3d OS thing. Now for the original $600 the hardware probably was not great, but for $150 that was some powerful hardware. Amazon's Fire OS was so terrible and it had so much 3d BS requiring the phone to run full tilt all of the time. This made the phone have no battery life and it ran super slow because all of the hardware was being used to run silly effects. I cannot believe that anyone at Amazon could have approved that thing to sell if they had attempted to use it for even 10 minutes it was just atrocious. With linage os the phone was fast and had great battery life, although the stupid 3d camera array thing confused the hell out of most apps that tried to access the camera.

Didn’t even have to touch it. Returned it and got a new one. That one was picking up police calls. Returned it and got a new one. This one was picking up what I’m assuming to be other cell conversations. Tried to return it. Demanded a different phone. They refused because they could only replace it with the same phone per policy. Called the corporate office. Threatened to protest on the sidewalk in front of Best Buy with 25-30 people and have local press to cover the story. I got my first iPhone the next day. Never looked back.

The Palm Pre was amazing ... WebOS... Alone is amazing I'd switch from Android in an instance. It just did multitasking better than Android still does ... The whole card way of multitasking.... And it was so moddable everything could be tweaked with just a simple patch. Overclocking and other cpu governor's was just amazing and even that got better over time. I just turned it on recently and the touch screen wasn't working which makes me sad....
@TheXlen2 жыл бұрын
Android still kinda offers OCing although nowadays limited, used to be pretty easy, and CPU governors can be switched easily as well. Symbian arguably was the first large OS that allowed for that, Li-Mo kinda continued, but sadly failed miserably As for multitasking, idk, a lot of my daily multitasking is working better than it ever had in the past 15+ years, that's just how long I've been multitasking on a phone

My first smartphone was a palm Pixi plus, and it was fantastic. WebOS to this day is my favorite os for a phone. After that died I got a Moto G, inexpensive, fantastic, and have only purchased Motorola since then
