I was in Berlin when the wall fell in '89. I had gone there to watch the South African musical "Sarafina". We even joked that the east Germans so badly wanted to see Sarafina that they had to break the wall. Good work guys. Love from Soweto, Suedafrika

I still have a big piece of the wall from the British section in Gatow. I buried it behind girlfriend house. It is still there I check on it in 2022 when I visited. Wow that had me crying... When I was there Ace it was a paradise. I was exotic back then 10 to 1 ratio

1989 the Wall came down and the borders were open between the two divided parts not only of Berlin but ALL of Germany that had been really divided since 1948/49. In 1990 Germany was renunited, officially made one country again (some say it is registered as a limited corporation in the USA, Deutschland GmbH) We celebrate that Day every year on the 3rd of October, or rather, it is a public holiday, but there is actually no celebration.
