Happy you saw the British museum, The statue at the front of the entrance as you entered is that of an African King who conquered part of Europe and the United Kingdom, but they crafted him in marble and he appears to be of European descent if you read the his epithet you will find out who he was in history.

You are 100 percent correct. Yes, Egypt is part of the African Tectonic Plate. Egypt reaches the northeastern boundary of the Arican Plate that coincides with the border where the Arabian Plate is tearing itself away from the remaining land mass that connects it with the African Plate, the Sinai Peninsula.

There is a good counter argument actually, sorry ACE. During the Arab spring as recent as the mid 2000's, during the looting some of the most valuable Egyptian artifacts were stolen, by Egyptians. In Cairo. however, for the sake of preserving important world history and relations i do think we should give them back to nations that can guarantee their safety and preservation and just keep replica's in England and make the exhibits more informative of our endeavours to learn about the ancient world when we went exploring it. There's a lot to be said about this really, i don't think you can call exploring the world and excavating items to educate really stealing can you, especially when at the time everyone who made the items originally had been dead thousands of years.....We Brits love a good dig, we constantly dig up the swathes of history right under us, graves the lot... to LEARN and then we exhibit them in museums too. The nations that the objects resided in were not obviously bothered or capable of excavating these themselves and then having them studied by literally some of the smartest minds of their time. It's also funny because if we're all from Africa then its a part of everyone history to dig up and learn from right? Are we all one or not, its confusing sometimes. Everyone loves to bash us brits for this, when they conveniently forgive the Italians for their empire and the Spanish and Portuguese who did atrocious things in the far east and south America's xD........ it's people who know half truths a lot of it. I mean the Spanish's curiosity of exploration literally wiped out a native population through viruses and sieging their bloody cities xD. Where's all the concern for the Aztecs ? There's literally a video on KZbin doing the rounds among the biggest "react" communities at the moment called: "What did the British ever do for us?" by a channel called Reef rebels that puts this into a context of net results. Go watch it ;)

The current Egyptians are mostly not African. They are descendants of the arab invasion of Egypt which happened in 639AD. Ancient Egypt predates the arab invasion by thousands of years, spanning around 4000BC - 525BC. The ancient Egyptians (Kemites) were Black. Calling the modern Egyptians ancient Egyptians is like calling the modern European-Americans the olmecs and mayans.
