THe sub contractor should pay. They are meant to be professional in their field. As you said yourself earlier in the video. You need to employ contractors who are financially capable of repairing their work.

As a Boss and someone used subcontractors i have had the same problem you are experiencing i invited the boss off the company how I used the subcontractors of and discussed how we would come to a solution in the end very waved there invoice he agreed with me how bad the work was . On the flat bed cut off the twist lock sockets as they foul the rollers on soft uneven ground. You don't have anything with twist locks so they are redundant

But losing your reputation, you just can't buy that back.

Standard business practice in my experience is that if your work is not up to standard and quality that we agreed upon, then you (the subcontractor) either rectify it at your own cost, or you do not get paid for the portion of work that had to be redone, or you pay the main contractor the cost of redoing it or getting it done by someone else.

I don't know about the UK, but here we basically have 4 types of contracts: (a) sale of goods, (b) services by the hour, (c) providing a satisfactory result, and (d) a combo of a and c. in your case, you'd pay in full if you had a type b contract, nothing for a type c (assuming you specced what's "satisfactory" properly) and only for recoverable value for a type d.

Should be easy to move the fish, just drop them in the water tank on the volumetric, then when you get there, stick the hose in the pond and drop the water. Bonus if they want some gravel in the bottom of the pond, you can sort that at the same time. More quality youtube advice for you

Accountability is something that is on both parties. Yours for making sure they know what you want from them and what they are expected to do. They have been informed as to what you expect and how it is to be done. Your explanation of what they did and their knowing they did not do the job correctly, tells you that any cost for fixing the problem should be their accountability factor. However, your staff did say they knew what was happening and the cost that it now fixing the problem to your companies standard which will be covered by your company. The reputation of Ashville is on the line not the sub that you hired. That Company is now going to pay for their mistake because everyone knows everyone in the construction arena. Reputation is getting work and money in the bank.

Great content as always. It is easy for a lay person to say yeah the contractor should not be paid, as we are just looking in on your life per-say. But I do think it is right that they the contractor you have employed in carrying out this job to your high specifications, should feel your pain of having to redo their, what appears to be a blatant disregard for your high standards. I guess it consequences isn’t it. The consequence for failing to follow or work to your high standards, which I'm sure they will be fully aware. As I guess the contract you may have written with them will highlight what is expected of them and their workmanship. I hope find a resolve, keep on posting.
