Genuinely awesome and wise words from Daniel about negative energy, had a similar experience recently where I was ripped off. Mad free argument with myself afterwards, but channelled my inner Daniel and thought, man he would be letting this go, and would stop wasting his own time.

Being a self employed spark, I always say to people that if you put a job off for whatever reason (mainly price) it will never be cheaper than the day you quoted it. 99% of the time it will increase over time. Prime example being the government shortchanging for raac when they could of done it properly. Would it of cost more at the time? Yes, but now it’s going to cost billions more because they thought they were being clever.

Granted the lower costs helped at the time allowing them to build more building, faster and cheaper. The thing is Governments love kicking the can down the road, be it 5 years or 40 years. All to make themselves look better at the time. They know fine well they will not be there to deal with and fix the issue.

There was nothing wrong with using RAAC. But it has a lifespan, just like ceramic tiles, asphalt shingles, reed, banana leaf, any kind of flat roof and the wooden decking in your backyard. Ignoring that and leaving it in place, without even inspecting it regularly (what certainly needs to be done at least at 3/4 and 7/8 of its rated lifespan), is like driving a car for 100k miles without an oil change and then blaming the motor.

The thing about structural lifespan, when a structural element gets to its 'end of life', it doesn't necessarily mean that, RAAC has to be replaced; it just means Structural health monitoring has to commence periodically to ensure the structural integrity of RAAC. From that structural health monitoring, a decision can be made to totally replace or retrofit.

We have a hospital in Norfolk made from the same Material,it now has over 2,482 Props holding up the roof due to collapse,it was built in 1980 with a 30 year life span,a new hospital has finally been announced a few months ago by our disgraceful government to be built and completed by 2030 yes nearly 50 years after it was built,Superb video as always Daniel 👍😉💪
